Several texters into the show tonight FURIOUS at my assertion that if you claim to ‘love Trump’ you’re at the very least not that bothered about misogyny and homophobia, or think other things are more important. Apparently this makes me extremely divisive and dangerous…. But baffled tbh….

Join me and my MASSIVE hoops from 6pm on LBC (Sat 22 November)

- Should Johnson lose his prime minister’s pension following the Covid enquiry?
- Mahmoud - when it comes to racism and immigration concerns which is chicken and which is egg?
- Have you cut off a friend over political issues?

On top of a reported £1 million per year to write a weekly column for the Daily Mail.

(This isn’t ‘politics of envy’ btw. If there wasn’t a cost of living crisis & rising poverty, if he’d done even a half decent job as PM or written anything vaguely coherent for the Mail I’d not mention).

‘A deficit of scientific understanding at government level for which expert advice could not make up’.

I enjoy this description on what went wrong during COVID in today’s guardian editorial (although not the implications, obviously).

Editorial: The latest report on the pandemic shows that grave failings were not limited to Boris Johnson. The government needs to prepare for the next crisis

George Monbiot on @boldpolitics.bsky.social ‘democracy is a problem capital is trying to solve (and propaganda is a very effective way of doing that)’.

Wow. @marina-purkiss.bsky.social asked Grok if Musk had ever tweeted that Trump was in the Epstein files. It said he had not and that any screenshots were ‘fake’.

My thoughts are with Stevenage at this difficult time.
I never thought a comparison could be overly harsh on Stevenage. But here we are.
Elon Musk is Stevenage

I asked grok who was the better role model for humanity, Jesus Christ or Elon Musk. GUESS WHAT.

Interesting. Wonder what it is for media? Often at media events I’m the only state school educated person there (I had a bloody excellent education, btw. Zero complaints).

I really hope Boris Johnson, Dominic Cummings and Matt Hancock are thinking hard about those 23,000 bereaved families this evening.

Since we’re apparently talking about people who aren’t the Chancellor as though they are, I’m sure in the interests of unbiased reporting the Telegraph will ‘unveil’ Zack Polanski’s, Ed Davey’s, f*ck it why not, even my plans to fill the economic black hole in the coming days….

Imagine if I wrote a piece saying ‘I’ve experienced mental illness, that’s how I *KNOW* it’s right for us to stop funding mental health services’.

That’s how stupid this headline is.
- It is entirely legitimate for the Home Secretary to highlight the overt racism that she receives for taking part in public life.

- Everybody should oppose that racism against her, whatever their politics.

- But it is important to make several other points about this argument about racism.

For those asking, this is Rod Liddle’s column in the Sunday Times. Apparently we’re in a place in 2025 where the notion that Hitler was straightforwardly an evil, genocidal despot is ‘contested’.
It’s the final line, for me 🤯

James - where did you see that?
Caller -an official home office report.
James -okay we’ve looked it up. It’s from Migration Watch which is a propaganda outfit. It’s not verified info.
Caller -so are you saying you don’t believe the statistic?

‘Dark forces are stirring up anger in the U.K., so I’m going to push through an asylum policy they approve of. Because famously if you give people what they want when they have hissy fits they totally behave after that’.
Here is how Home Sec Shabana Mahmood wants to try to persuade Guardian readers of her policy

"My goal is to ensure there are legal routes into this country for those who are truly fleeing peril, and for whom this is the first safe country they have encountered"
