I saw this for the second time today and was briefly like “you moron, you believed this obviously fake parody thing was real, be a less credulous consumer of social media” and then I searched and nope it’s a real podcast title available on Apple Podcasts and everything
very weird “I am Spartacus” thing happening right now with the worst people on earth

You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test

Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs)

Good tech.

Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales)

Bad tech.

“Abolish” or “defund” aren't within grasp in 2026. But where are:

- End qualified immunity
- Rewrite use-of-force so this crap isn't ruled “within policy”
- Overturn July 8 mandatory detention memo
- Reinstate TPS
- Open up detention centers, enforce humane conditions

He doesn’t even *ask* for it.
Chuck Schumer just announced demands on DHS to avoid shutdown:
1. End roving patrols, tighten rules on warrants
2. Enforce accountability & unified code of conduct for agents
3. No more masks & require bodycams

There are *already* standards on much of this.

The issue is DHS isn't following them!

Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. This is about right and wrong—and the murder we are seeing on the streets is just plain wrong. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans. We can stop this.

this is a straightforward impeachable offense for trump, vance, rubio and every other person down the line who enabled it and the framers would have thought impeachment for it did not go nearly far enough
Marco Rubio: "The oil proceeds are being deposited into an account that ultimately will become a US Treasury blocked account here in the US. We will say 'this is what this money can be spent on.' They will submit to us a budget request -- 'we want to use the money on these things.'"

What’s the point of legislative reforms when (1) the administration refuses to follow the law and (2) the Supreme Court‘s obedient majority consistently prevents lower courts from enforcing the law against the administration?

Seems masturbatory.
SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms

1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities.

2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct.

3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.

I am not being snarky. I need my colleagues who wrote on covid school lockdowns to engage with this. To be as loud as they have been about prior "learning loss." Hell, you can cite Tom & Mark's AERJ paper so you feel better that there's some econ somewhere in your argument.

Part of being a responsible citizen in 2026 is having a friend or person you can go to as more of an expert than yourself. on any given issue like AI, global politics, constitutional law, etc who you’ve vetted through a relationship or bonafides

I think Adams serves as a powerful cautionary tale that all STEM workers should heed - never let your drive for efficiency and objectivity sever your connection to humanity. If you reduce society into a spreadsheet to be optimized you eliminate the humanity of everyone in it.

Here’s some things that can be done by a party out of power

- file impeachment articles every day in the House

- withhold unanimous consent in the senate and filibuster every nominee

- be everywhere with comms saying this is lawless and impeachable

BREAKING: ICE killed a Minnesota woman in broad daylight & there must be accountability.

But when I moved to subpoena all records & footage related to this murder, Republicans voted it down.

They've never cared about law & order or keeping our communities safe.

I don't think I've ever, prior to just now, used a verbatim script that I hadn't written or at least heavily edited when calling a senator or representative, but couldn't really see how to improve on this one.
"I'm calling to demand the immediate dismantling of ICE for the murder of a woman in Minneapolis today and the impeachment of the President for his support of that murder" is the easiest call to my senators and representative I've ever made

Wittgenstein. Absolutely incomprehensible as a poster (laudatory). Becomes a meme to quote-post him with “That‘s a terrifying answer, have a nice day” or possibly “Sir, these are fifth grade students.”
Do you have a historical figure you most wish got to be a poster? I feel like you must have a better answer than mine, which is Churchill. The guy started autobiography when he was 19 I think. And just never stopped. True poster.

second degree murder, and specifically depraved heart murder, wherein the accused doesn't actively plan to kill a specific person or people but acts with callous disregard for human life - like firing a gun into a crowd or driving drunk - should apply to decisions made by CEOs and heads of industry
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
