And what was really frustrating was that my work then followed up the call with a circular email that was essentially a back slapping exercise about how inclusive they were.
Yeah, the social pressure to not confront that on the call was absolutely maddening. There were a bunch of really akward silences followed by the person running the call redirecting the focus etc. It was really fucked up tbh.
It honestly felt like being gaslit.
Esther continually deadnamed Brianna during the call and honestly if you didn't already know what happened, you would have assumed suicide. There was no focus on external dangers or how we could combat them. The focus was purely about the dangers of how 'obsessed with social media' she was.
My workplace arranged a large teams call with Esther during pride month and it ended up being entirely about mental health and phone access for kids. It was infuriating how much Brianna's past felt like it was being rewritten and how impossible it was to confront her mother about what she was doing.

The CASS article is an argumentative essay, it has been incorrectly been interpreted as a scientific peer review.

Devoid of any sensible arguments against GAHT CASS subjects us to a carefully crafted sideshow of straw man conjecture, smoke & mirrors.

Media Boosted Anti-Trans Movement With Credulous Coverage of ‘Cass Review’
Some US outlets have followed the British pattern in their coverage of the Cass Review, not questioning Cass's tendentious interpretations, and sidelining the voices of trans youth and their parents.

@georgemonbiot.bsky.social is worried about a ‘project 2029’ while starmer’s labour implement project 2025.

they’re jus doing it in an english way that’s all.

what does he think the internet censorship, digital id, and reinforcement of christian patriarchy through transphobic policy is about?
Reposted by Krembler
the first person that patriarchy teaches a man to harm is himself.

oppressive violence against others is more palatable if someone has already first been convinced to rip the copper wiring out of their own soul.

A brief response to @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social talking about the Supreme Court ruling regarding trans people (and, as is always necessary nowadays, an endorsement of @zackpolanski.bsky.social and the Green Party).

same tactics as nazis during the holocaust (down to the self-awareness of what they are doing) btw
right wing bigots have admitted

- the “trans women in bathrooms” issue

- the “trans women in sports” issue and

- the “trans kids getting surgery” issue

were all MADE UP TO TAKE OUR RIGHTS AWAY

are you paying attention?

Was it a culture of transphobia killed this girl? No it must be them phones

Esther Ghey please stop im begging you
Meeting yesterday with Brianna Ghey's mother Esther - and pupils at Brianna's former school - was a powerful reminder of why controls on social media and smartphone use in schools is so important for children, teachers and parents. (1/2)

I'm so sick of discourse from supposed allies about where trans people went wrong.

Where we "went wrong" is that billionaires spent unimaginably large sums to attack us repeatedly and major media outlets have spent a decade piling on.

It's not a particularly pleasant conversation to have, but we need to interrogate Brianna's mother's role in making it about phones and not about their child's gender identity making them a target for bigots.
That the murder of Brianna Ghey has been so completely co-opted by the "ban kids from using phones" brigade sickens me to my fucking core. Whatever her killers were looking at it's undeniable that the landslide of transphobic propaganda in the media played a crucial role in their choice of victim.

I really believe this is the most vile gaslighting campaign anti-LGBT extremists have ever run.

Brianna was murdered by kids she knew in real life (not met online), but they've turned her murder into a crusade against kids having access to social media.

Starmer has just ended, by dictatorial fiat, a harm-reduction policy that protected minority groups dating back to the murder of Stephen Lawrence, because he hates trans people.
1993: Stephen Lawrence is murdered by racists.
1999: The MacPherson Inquiry recommends recording of non-crime hate incidents.
2005: After the Discrimination Law Review, non-crime hate incidents begin being recorded by UK police.
2025: Mainstream transphobia ends a harm reduction policy that worked.
Met Police says it will no longer investigate non-crime hate incidents
The move comes as an investigation into Father Ted creator Graham Linehan is dropped, after his arrest over a post on X.

As with Charlie Kirk, the media seem remarkably reluctant to report on what liberal hero Graham Linehan has actually said.

I wonder if that's because of the libel, or because of the way he's repeatedly incited violence against women and girls?

Labour claimed to be offering a broad tent. Now our Women and Equalities Minister is an anti-LGBTQ Catholic who regularly takes advice from a failed tax lawyer.

Who thinks period poverty is a myth and that cartoon aliens make women unsafe.

The phrase "trans activist" is goofy because like 95% of the time it's used it refers to a trans person simply existing.

Media, pointing at a woman buying a coffee: behold, a trans activist.

Woman: buying coffee is not activism stop being so fucking weird

Media: trans activist criticizes media
Burn it if you see it. It is an insult to the human form.
