This is a very important legal case, whereby the enforcement of equal human rights for trans ppl, ruled by the European Court of Human Rights, is actually carried out by the British govt. Having not done so, as legally required, brings the British state into disrepute, & undermines human rights.

I can't help but believe that trans people in the UK are being set up to be the catalyst for liberals to join calls to leave the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).

The first article headline is from The Independent, under the UK Politics section. The headline reads: "Britain’s first transgender judge takes UK to European court over Supreme Court ruling on biological sex." The subheading says lawyers for Dr. McCloud have filed an appeal in the European Court of Human Rights. The byline credits Millie Cooke, Political Correspondent, dated Monday 18 August 2025 at 20:27 BST.

The second article headline reads: "The Tories are set to commit to leaving the ECHR at their party conference" by Olivia Barber, published yesterday, with an estimated reading time of under one minute.

Apparently they had discussions in the NHS recently and now I'm classified as biologically male. She didn't even understand that I have been on HRT for 20 years and am biologically female in all important ways - I had to explain that to her.

This sort of thing is going to lead to a LOT of harm!

Can of worms is an interesting phrase. I would characterise it as illegal, immoral, ridiculous, regressive, and actively dangerous to trans people and cis women.

The only two American states with bathroom bills this restrictive are Florida and Utah.

and the monitoring of the judgment was therefore closed prematurely in 2011. Lord Hodge gave a press interview on 12 September to the Times in which he admitted that the effect of the FWS case was that trans people had never had the rights they were led to believe by the State to have had.
