reading about this riyadh comedy festival thing. genuinely astonished that comedians, *stand up comedians*, chose a fck load of money over doing the right thing. this isn't the behaviour i have come to expect from the comedy world, a notoriously upstanding and moral industry.

They have made it clear that they believe if they make it awful enough to be trans, people will stop being trans. In service of that, the assault of children is a welcome outcome for them.

When politicians like Trump, or Starmer, say & do transphobic things, parents talk about it in front of kids & then the kids bring it to school.

It’s horrific that these kids are being taught to hate & at such an early age.

I sincerely question whether this “headline”, the way it is presented, completely lacking in any objectivity or neutrality, is a suitable, appropriate or acceptable use of the BBC News ticker. It’s a quote stoking racial tensions by a desperate politician, presented as a statement of fact.

The worst bit of it for me is that the casting team purposely seem to have put a number of right-wing people in there with a trans person. They basically manufactured it for a moment like this to happen.

Tonight’s Big Brother episode featured a housemate being transphobic to the face of a transgender housemate, and they didn’t get instantly removed from the house, just in case you’re wondering what level the acceptance of casual bigotry has got in the UK.
