I am begging Democrats to run a very simple presidential campaign of "I will throw every one of these criminals in jail and reverse everything they did"
NEW: We’ve uncovered the first known example of taxpayer money flowing from DHS to businesses controlled by Kristi Noem’s allies and friends.

It’s part of a money trail that’s been shrouded in secrecy—and involves $220 million, a mysterious Delaware LLC & a horse named Gill.

Never in my life have I held conversation like that over email. Psychotic in itself.

I'm not a massive fan of the "how does it poll" approach to reporting the Epstein stuff. Maybe I'm just a nerd, but I don't think that analysis tells us anything of any real importance.

I will say it one million times: they should have to wear funny little hats and drive funny little cars like the brits
I simply refuse to accept that police ever have to look like this. this is just pure cosplay. it should be illegal for cops to be dressed like soldiers going to war.

Live your life in such a way that the things you say when you're the highest you've ever been don't get archived by the FBI and later circulated widely on Bluesky for universal and deserved ridicule

"skin as part of brain?"

This is that great intellect people talk about?

One of the upshots of metapolitical culture in the US is it devalues the ability of people to simply believe in things and pursue them, because stuff like electability replaces that.

When you say "we are going to win" to people, you give everyone permission to believe that
I do not regret to inform you that we are going to win. Please do repeat this insight.
BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote.

The notion that government subsidies or credits can only ever be morally justified when used "the right way" is a tightly held principle among the class of people who will use any loophole possible to reduce their income tax liability and then say "don't hate the player, hate the game"
Say it on record, you coward.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

everyone talking about Frieren's demons has missed a better comparison, so-called "AI" like Grok, Claude, ChatGPT, a thing that mimics human syntax brilliantly, isn't capable of human thought or emotion, but merely preys on people

One of the things we may have stumbled on here is how exceedingly easy it is to get Elon Musk to fixate on a particular topic. No idea what we should do with this knowledge.

it’s important to understand that Nate Silver’s entire consciousness is filtered through the lens of being a gross nerd his entire life. the opportunity to feel like he’s one of the cool kids is something he can’t pass up, it’s load-bearing for his dork psyche.

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

In general I think a lot of people go around with an idea in their head that wages under capitalism are determined by how much people need when the reality is that they are determined by a labor market where firms attempt to pay the lowest wages possible even if they are unlivable.
