Dad running for NY-02 to make Long Island more affordable for working families. #LGM.

Long Island deserves a Representative who fights for working families and stands up to Trump’s attacks. Meanwhile, Andrew Garbarino can’t even wake up to vote.

I'm running for Congress because I know we can fight our way out of this. Be a day 1 donor: secure.actblue.com/donate/garre...

The president should not be able to take money from taxpayers and put it in his personal bank account. For any reason. Having his personal attorney do it isn’t any better.

Glad to see Rep. Jamie Raskin and @gregsargent.bsky.social on this. Dems should hammer it. Most Americans dislike corruption.
Good: Jamie Raskin tells me he's formally demanding any/all internal communications between WH and DOJ on Trump's $230 million payoff.

More Dems should talk this way about Trump's criming. He's turning the presidency into a massive Bribe Delivery System.

Trump’s Vile New $230 Million Shakedown of DOJ Just Got Even Worse
It’s bad enough that Trump wants—and DOJ will likely fork over—this tribute payment. Now, get this: It can probably be done at first without even being revealed publicly.

this is part and parcel with my annoyance that the only unions which matter to a certain kind of commenter are the teamsters and the UAW, even though the NEA, the AFSCME and the SEIU are all larger than either
'authentically working class' is dumb in all kinds of ways - not least because it means 'white men' most of the time - but about a guy from an upper-middle-class family whose grandad was major American architect and who went to prep school is, well, dumb as shit.
No I do not support all working class people, some of those assholes are very dumb

this would sound pretty menacing if i believed he was capable of making a robot army, but he isn't so this just sounds like something a 12-year-old would say. everyone is twelve now
ELON MUSK: “If we build this robot army, do I have at least a strong influence over this robot army? … I don't feel comfortable building that robot army unless I have a strong influence.” Read the full piece from @aarianmarshall.bsky.social on @wired.com www.wired.com/story/elon-m...
Elon Musk Wants ‘Strong Influence’ Over the ‘Robot Army’ He’s Building
In a Tesla earnings call Wednesday, the world’s richest man pondered the future of his company’s Optimus robots—and his control over them.

Call time is important but dinner with wife is also important.
The full education platform will include both!
My name is Garrett Petersen. I’ve spent years serving our community and fighting MAGA on a local level.

Now I’m running for Congress against a MAGA Republican who is literally asleep on the job.

Help me reach 1000 followers - like, follow, and repost and let’s flip the house!
He's *gotta* have that trademarked, right?

All good on that front I promise
I am a Mets fan though so that may be an issue for some people
I have no tattoos or any reddit history of significance. Also no racist group chats.
I'll spare you having to look at me shirtless, only my wife should have to deal with that, can confirm I'm tattooless.
I haven't, listened for a long time however. As with most Lawnguylanders I have hot takes about my teams but I try and keep my blood pressure steady
I'm literally in the discord lol.

The optics of Trump building a ballroom that 99.9% of Americans will never set foot in while millions line up for food banks are worth more than any policy paper or economic proposal. This image is a visceral punch in the mouth that needs no words. It should haunt the GOP for a generation.

God dammit! This is insane. Miles wants to charterize Houston's "best" (academically) performing high schools to "give them greater autonomy." This is patently stupid. He could just *LEAVE THESE SCHOOLS ALONE!* There is no need to do this, unless you want to line buddies! pockets and hurt kids. Ahh!
Breaking: Houston ISD says its top high schools can consider partnering with nonprofits or outside groups to gain more autonomy over campus decisions.

The schools would become an “Innovation Partnership School” under Senate Bill 1882. www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston...

ppl are bringing up food banks and yea absolutely you should give generously to food banks and panhandlers but like you cant mutual aid state capacity. If every food bank in the us got their annual revenue already, saved 100% of it, and no overhead besides food they might be able to provide 2 months
40 odd million people use SNAP. 7 million WIC. food banks are already way down because of funding cuts. It’s going to be catastrophic
I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

"Those who secretly hold less-progressive views and those who are sympathetic to the plight of trans people but are worried about winning elections are hesitant to speak more plainly for fear of being cast out of the tent."

are theeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy
this feels completely banal? yes, a big tent political party is going to include voters who have bigoted views. i don’t think anyone has argued otherwise? the actual question at hand is “to what extent should a political party ostensibly committed to equality appeal to popular prejudices?”
Bigots in the tent
What did you think winning meant? vibes? papers? essays? losers.

There's a reason the Constitution spells out a whole host of powers in Article 1 that are supposed to give power to Congress to check an executive. It's a failure of Andrew Garbarino and the rest of the Republicans in the House and they shouldn't be in office if they won't do their damn job.
Whenever you hear someone invoke the unitary executive, remember the image below.

This was an inevitable result of the unitary executive theory:
Empowering a president to tyrannically destroy institutions that ensured our government reflects the rule of law rather than his personal whim.
