Fight don’t fold.
Attacking pre-school teachers because they don’t think Palestinian kids should be bombed to death? Declaring NYC’s first Muslim mayor “our enemy?” Fomenting hatred, even within the Jewish community?

You’re not making anyone safer.🧵

Read these words. This is your country doing this:

“Pregnant & postpartum women report starving in ICE custody, freezing cells, invasive procedures, miscarriages, their pleas for help going unanswered.”

Thank you @rfkhumanrights.bsky.social @the-independent.com for shining a light on these horrors
(1/4) ICE detention has become a black box. Oversight has been gutted. Families are being separated. Pregnant and postpartum women report starving in custody, freezing cells, invasive procedures, miscarriages, and their pleas for help going unanswered.
Miscarriages, infections, neglect: The pregnant women detained by ICE
Until last year, Congress required reports on the pregnant, postpartum or nursing women in ICE custody, including ‘detailed justification’ for their detention. This requirement no longer exists, Kelly...

My Fair Work Week law requires fast-food restaurants to give workers stable schedules & pathways to F/T jobs.

Starbucks has cheated 15,000 baristas—now they have to pay up.

Props @sbworkersunited.org & @hellodcwp.bsky.social for the biggest workers’ right enforcement action in NYC history.

Props to the protestors who the New York Times credits for foiling ICE’s intended raid in Chinatown earlier today.

So many people are showing they know what it means to be New Yorkers!

This Thanksgiving, there are a lot of broken things to heal. And a lot to be grateful for.

My parents have been taking me to help serve Thanksgiving meals for as long as I can remember. Great to have Marek in on the tradition today.

One takeaway: people love pies!

Thanks CHIPS soup kitchen for helping us remember some of what we’re grateful for.

So grateful for those who tend our most treasured places, and work to repair what’s been broken.

Today I’m recommending that NYC’s pension fund boards drop BlackRock and 2 other (out of 49) public markets asset managers due to inadequate decarbonization plans.

Climate risk is financial risk – we need asset managers who will invest responsibly.🧵

This morning @Harvey4council and I accompanied Ibrahima (who arrived here from Guinea when he was 17) to immigration court.

He’s seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) — and his GED, too.

Thankfully, a federal judge recently ordered the Trump Admin to protect SIJS.

I love the @metmuseum.org. It enriches the lives of NY’ers and visitors from across the world.

That’s made possible by the people who make the Met run — the curators, educators and museum workers seeking to join @uaw.org

Congrats to Met Museum workers on filing for this historic union election!
Workers at The Met are trying to unionize, citing “long-term pay inequities, lack of job protection, and ever-increasing workloads.” If they succeed, their union would be one of the largest museum unions in the US.

Staffers at the New York City institution have filed a petition for a union vote with the National Labor Relations Board.

The crime is not what we were doing protesting in the 10th floor elevator lobby of 26 Federal Plaza.

The crime is what ICE agents are doing on the other side of the door.

GREAT NEWS!!! Federal District Court Judge Cathy Seibel ordered that Joel must be released from custody!!!

The judge blasted the Trump Administration as "either Orwellian or Kafkaesque."

Thank you @nyclu.org and The Door for fighting so hard for Joel & so many others.
ICE will arrest anyone—even a 16-year-old who just wants to get back to class.

Joel Camas may be the first unaccompanied minor detained by Trump this term.

Trump is about to throw 170,000 formerly homeless families out of supportive housing onto the street.

This is not “housing policy.” It is one more step from the authoritarian playbook to elevate cruelty, scapegoat the vulnerable, punish cities & provoke disorder.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.
