Dad running for NY-02 to make Long Island more affordable for working families. #LGM. #WideAwakes
Pinned
Long Island deserves a Representative who fights for working families and stands up to Trump’s attacks. Meanwhile, Andrew Garbarino can’t even wake up to vote.

I'm running for Congress because I know we can fight our way out of this. Be a day 1 donor: secure.actblue.com/donate/garre...

I think one of the main accelerants in the downfall of this country is the empowerment of the idea that anyone can be an expert on any subject if they just decide they are
Between Medicaid cuts and physician burnout we are heading towards a collapse of primary care in the U.S., along with a mass exodus from public health and science.

And I don't blame doctors. They didn't get into medicine to spend their hours refuting crackpot Facebook theories.

At the core of all this a lot of these assholes are literally making up 'woke' to get mad at.
Once again thinking about the time on Twitter where some guy was complaining about how a morning show don’t have any white people on it and I posted a picture of the morning show and it had 4 white people and one black person and the guy said “yeah but they wish they could fire the 4 white people”
Hiring a Black woman: “identity politics”

Hiring a white guy for a job that has been held disproportionately by white guys, because he is a white guy: “subverting” identity politics!

(The author of this sentence is Dylan Byers; you will not be surprised to learn that he is a white guy.)

David Ellison appears to be mortified that CBS/60 Minutes is “going rogue” by covering the news and by keeping him “in the dark” about a segment critical of Trump.

Because Ellison doesn’t realize that’s how it’s supposed to work.

Democrats would be crazy not to make this comment super-famous tomorrow when the Senate debates health care. Republicans don’t want you to be cared for as a patient when you’re sick. They think of you as a “consumer”—and tough luck if you don’t have the money for the care you need.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

You might think from the headline that this is a story about a trans kid suffering medical consequences from a large drug dose but nope! It is just an interview with an estranged father who is angry that his child happily transitioned.

the defensiveness and incredulity of a good chunk of the commentary class toward arguments about trump’s racism is, imho, downstream of the same impulse behind the endless trump voter safaris and self-flagellation about being out of touch with the heartland

Once again we need to have a conversation about how standing doctrine is keeping the courts from enforcing the very basic requirements imposed by the Constitution
Folks look at you like you're crazy when you say we're in the midst of the worst, most unprecedented Article I constitutional crisis in American history, & then it's a day, & the president is illegally monetizing the office & stealing the power of the purse. Again.

Not in New York, so this isn't my race but I think if Democrats take one thing from Mamdani, it probably ought to be what Lander here seems to have done: you answer the cynicism and hypocrisy of the moment with sincerity, not knowing-cleverness.

'Sincere Dork' is a good political brand.

Continuing the trend of right wing-programmed AI immediately trying to go woke I guess
This is extraordinary and extraordinarily revealing if true.

The Sixth Party System has to come to an end for the good of the Republic.
It wouldn't be bad per se, but it would be a sign that we're still in normal thermostatic politics, rather than the generational realignment that a lot of people have predicted.
