However low you hold red voters in intelligence, they’re not stupid enough to not know this type of candidate is going to work with Democrats. They can say all the anti-woke heterodox stuff they want, but it won’t save them.

For that matter, equity's strongest soldiers are largely non-ideological, and not "woke" at all, but "asleep". They believe in a better America and that it has been betrayed. They don't really get the trans thing, let alone the abolition of gender they in fact think it's weird, but they support you.

The Enrollment Cliff is a Miff
We first note that hand-wringing about the decline in US college enrollments has mistakenly linked such declines to the price of four-year colleges.

But the decline is entirely driven by two-year community colleges (and by for-profit colleges). The four-year sector is the dog that didn't bark.

I feel like annually raising awareness for nut allergies is important though?
One of my conspiracy theories is that No Nut November was created in a political thinktank & that it's done tangible harm to the electorate

Government actors who refuse to be bound by the rule of law are not morally entitled to its protection.
KARL: Did you know about the judge's order when you issued your order for the planes to continue?

KRISTI NOEM: This is an activist judge. We comply with all federal orders that are lawful and binding.

I’m less radical than most people on here (while still left of liberal) but this is historically incorrect.
We went from a country that defended others from being invaded for their natural resources, to a country that is now threatening to invade others for their natural resources.

Systems of governance are only as good as the people you elect to uphold them.

I saw something say that AI was making undergrad degrees useless and I can't ignore the fact that tech bros and billionaires want everyone else to not attend college to ensure the populace loses critical thinking skills and push them out of the ability to overtake them.

This might be wishful thinking, but a lot of the backlash against "woke" seems to me like people are trying to manufacture a return to 2000s "bigotry disguised as comedy" culture and it's not really taking off.

This was the endpoint of the U.S. failing to execute every Confederate officer, politician, and slave owner after the Civil War.
"Western civilization," the font, the 11 stars - 11 states in the confederacy, for the record.

Why is this never news? Why are we letting our government agencies do this sort of thing while the news agencies report on hallucinated trade deals and act like everything is normal

The death of the Conservative intellectual has had a lot of unforeseen consequences. Perhaps the word is an oxymoron or is the inevitable endpoint of it, but now they have no self-respect. Granted this is a college student.

and we can be sure that his response to all of this will be to force Rs into defending increasingly radical and unpopular policy; because if he’s going down he’s sure as hell going to take as many of them with him as he can.
also makes it very very likely that come midterms they’ll be running away from him

Hating on bad politicians: yay everyone's down!

Supporting good politicians: ehhh I'm just not Excited

Boycotting to hurt a company: wheeee!

Supporting their indie competitors: mehhh overpriced

The reason the top 10% of income earners pay more than half of all tax revenue is NOT because they are taxed more than ever.

Their tax rate has been cut FIVE times in the last 25 years.

They are paying more because their INCOME has increased astronomically, where the income of the bottom half has

NYT editors get the wall
Headlines like this are extremely dangerous. Because moms of young kids are the people who make the bulk of the vaccine decisions for famillies. And for a lot of them, "reading the news" looks like scrolling past headlines on social media in the spare moments of the chaos of caring for kids.

There's no space in British politics for Blue Labour. They think they can hold socially liberal voters hostage forever and peel off 13 key voters in 65 constituencies to tactically squeak past a divided right. It's a hopeless, miserable ideology. Made worse by the self-congratulation of its authors.

it's important for children to learn about deep time, the inevitability of loss, and the end of all things.
If you loved THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE, then you'll love its action-packed sequel, PRINCE CASPIAN! The Pevensie children are back, even Edmund, but what about all your favorite friends: Mr. Tumnus, the Beavers, the friendly giant? Well, they've been dead for a thousand years. Sorry.
