"The ACA offers disabled people “options that many other people take for granted,” said Mia Ives-Rublee, senior director of the @americanprogress.bsky.social’ Disability Justice Initiative, especially given the ties between insurance and employment."

Did you know that pregnant people receive protections under the ADA for work accommodations? I have no problem with them utilizing accessible parking spaces. I do have a problem w/ the fact that there aren't more of them available. And that public transportation still remains inaccessible for many.

Today is the international day of persons w/ disabilities. Recognizing disability as a universal human experience is essential. Traveling has emphasized to me the interdependence that we have not only w/ those in our communities, but those around the world & across history. #IDPWD

Taking away the opportunity for disabled people to get a fair education is heartless and will only further marginalize them.

IDEA is the reason I was able to succeed in elementary school. My individualized education plan was so effective, I didn’t even realize my ADHD was a disability until I left the public school system for college.

I’ve published scientific papers, got a masters degree and now have a good, steady job.
Saturday was the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). I wrote about how the law helped make me who I am today and how losing it's protections may stifle the talent of generations of disabled individuals after me. www.the74million.org/article/weak...

I saw something say that AI was making undergrad degrees useless and I can't ignore the fact that tech bros and billionaires want everyone else to not attend college to ensure the populace loses critical thinking skills and push them out of the ability to overtake them.

"Obtaining an education is one of the best ways to help disabled people secure a stable income—and by weakening the IDEA, the Trump administration is trying to take those opportunities away."

Happy turkey day to everyone. Everyone should be able to eat and be housed. I am thankful for all the people who work at soup kitchens and hand out food to low income and unhoused year round. I got to volunteer with Operation Turkey Greensboro. It was great to do something different this year.

So they tore down a wing of the White House without finalized plans for the addition? Sound like what they've been wanting to do with the ACA.
I went to a black-tie wedding at the Bacara thrown by a client. By the end of it he was yelling at me that he wanted me to sue the ice sculpture vendor IMMEDIATELY.

The rich are different than normal people.
Exclusive: President Trump has argued with the architect he handpicked to design a White House ballroom over the size of the project, reflecting a conflict between architectural norms and Trump’s grandiose aesthetic.
