“Have you brought the list?”
“I have, O Great One.”
“Has it been checked twice?”
“Of course, sir”
“Excellent.”
“Do you require anything further?”
“Bring me an elf, I’m famished.”

My grandfather wrote, during the Nixon impeachment, that it was improper for there to be public opinion polls on questions of impeachment. The matter is for Congress to decide, itself, using its own honor and judgment.

Obviously that feels quaint now, but like...

Congrats to re-elected Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller (D).

This is the first, but it may not be the only electoral victory for someone who has appeared on PLURIBUS.

immigrants score the lowest on tests, but they also take all our jobs, while at the same time taking all the welfare and buying all the homes

One of the many reasons AI can't produce good writing is it can't hate its own writing. It can't think to itself "Maybe I'm illiterate" during the writing process. And that's essential

This moment will not last and the important thing now is to figure out how we can build a better system/society. Central to that is making sure everyone from the top to the bottom is brought to actual justice.

Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice
My theory, fwiw, is that Supreme Court Justices are not immune to Twitter brain poisoning. I suspect all six have horrific information environments and have therefore lost the ability to understand the people who don't agree with them.
The part that I can't figure out is what John Roberts thinks he is doing. He used to seem to be a judge who was very attentive to appearances, I think on a theory that you can't draw too much attention to yourself without undermining your ability to continue to shape the law.

But in any event, it would be perfectly legal for an enraged Dem congress and president to kick the supreme court out of its tacky fake greek temple and set them up in an office park somewhere. And then strip virtually all of the court's appellate jurisdiction.

Of these bands only Hüsker Dü properly honored the Beatles by breaking up acrimoniously
I mean what kind of snob says “the” Pixies. Also, 1987 was a big Beatles year with the release of the CDs. The notion that the Beatles weren’t an obvious influence on R.E.M., Hüsker Dü, Prince, and other major critical darlings of 1987 is wild!
