It is unfair to represent this capital as "burned." It was used to pay people and buy things, exactly as it was supposed to be, and now it is presumably in the hands of smarter people who will do something better with it. That is good. You want this. Out of Zuckerberg's hands, into someone else's.
That much money financing games by actual game developers would have financed 150+ of the highest budget AAA games, and the several orders of magnitude more jobs to produce them. Instead it was burned failing to produce advertiser-safe Second Life.

As a pornographer myself, I feel... weird about creators who make distinctions between porn and other adult/sexual content. If you defend porn, your work will ALSO be defended. Don't be afraid to get down in the mud with us. You're gonna end up here anyway.
there is plenty of sexual content on steam. the problem isn't that valve is denying sexual content (though, as a near-monopoly, that would also be a problem) it's that valve is denying specifically sexual content that is non-pornographic, most notably in the horror genre.

I will never forget seeing a Black family who had taken the kids out to play on the big block of stone on which a statue of I forget which Confederate general stood just the night before. Sheer delight.
In Maryland, it's only been in the last decade or so that we've managed to dump our Taney statues. It would be nice to think that if there's a republic that survives, its rescuers won't cast any of Roberts to hang around, shaming us for a century or more.
