I’m going to try to do my 31 (minimum) horror movie thing again this year, though we’ll see if I make it.

I’ll also be putting up some recommendations for different flavors of horror and/or themed double features.

I usually start the month with some found footage stuff, out of tradition.

An absolutely incredibly pull quote that should inspire every decent human to prove them wrong.

FIRE has long been associated with the cause of “academic freedom” championed by its right-wing donors, so I wanted to see how its much-publicized expansion into free expression has played out.

Among its newest stances? Support for conversion therapy on religious-based free speech grounds.

Democrats need to lay the groundwork for reform by attacking the villains on the Supreme Court - loudly, angrily, personally, relentlessly. And they should start now.

the elevation of “separation of powers” as the paramount value of the constitution is just rhetorical justification for presidential dictatorship, since that is what you have when the legislative branch cannot constrain the exercise of executive power through law.
In her dissent, Judge Pan says the emerging view of executive power by Trump and his backers in the courts "concentrates excessive power in the President and thus paves the way to autocracy." storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
