on both sides these were still the minority though. most people were just normal. and because i'm communist my biggest takeaway was just because of the debt and stress involved on both sides what should be a collaborative relationship between students/teachers had become fully oppositional

going to uni in 2015-2018 there were a few extremely darkly funny moments as professors who thought students were entitled babies who were conspiring to ruin them collided with students who used tumblr therapyspeak to justify any petty disagreement that they had

younger folks taking slang from various sources and influences and changing its context is well documented, and there's a long history of AAVE terms being adopted and appropriated over time all of that is known and makes total sense to me. however. when zoomers say unc i do feel slightly insane
