The secret to early retirement; dine out rarely, fly economy and be a Google employee making $390,000/year married to a fellow Google employee 17 years older than you who likely makes twice as much as you.
37-year-old quit her $390,000 Google job after saving up $1.5 million—see the 'no buy checklist' that helps her spend less
She left a $390,000-a-year job and now uses a simple set of rules to make her savings last in Switzerland.

Also a good reminder that the political press being biased against progressives isn't new. The Sunday shows have been largely conservative-dominated trash for three decades+
It’s always fun to see the clips of the Sunday political shows because you get to go “yep the news lets people lie to them for an hour and airs it”

You cannot separate the development and deployment of technology from those abusive dimensions of the forces which develop and deploy that technology. “Well in my mind palace i can imagine the technology in a world without abuse so it’s fine—“ people are rude to you because this is an insult to life
“What if people just empowered themselves with private property?” Capital is capital. Labor is labor. No millenarian tech utopianism will fix that when its proponents are just rationalizing away their private citizen attitude about the problems of others. This culture only ever complied with fascism

We weren't forced to use search engines over card catalogs. It was just easier and more intuitive.

We weren't forced to use GPS over printed directions. It was just easier and more intuitive.

We weren't forced to use ball point pens over quill and ink well. It was just easier and more intuitive.
what if instead of being anti-tech to a degree that isn’t winnable, those who have (sometimes very legitimate) concerns instead chose to empower themselves through technology instead of resisting it? could this be anything?
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills

Maybe I'm being too generous but I think Democrats don't even know what "going high" means. I mean defending access to abortion and healthcare in general is going high, advocating for your fellow senators/party members is going high, I just think they use this shit as an excuse to do nothing.
While written and delivered well, Michelle Obama's "when they go low we go high" speech did incalculable damage to liberals' view of politics and ability to deal with what Trump represents.

James Cameron stayed at the hotel I worked at in OKC a few times a year because his wife is from the city and he was a gigantic prick every single time. Treated all the workers like shit, never tipped, etc.

I am of the opinion that how a person treats service workers tells you who they really are.

One of the things that really resonates with me when watching Pluribus is how insane and angry Carol feels when trying to rationalize both with the infected and uninfected. It seems everyone else is carrying on business as usual when something cataclysmic is happening.
what do you even do about journalists like this. biggest megaphone on the planet at the times and choosing to promote lies. it doesn't do shit if we all block her, and we can only cancel subs so many times.

i guess you hope for a sense of shame that you know isn't there
NEW: The F.D.A. announced in an internal memo that 10 children died "because of" the Covid shot. Other experts want to see proof.

“This is a profound revelation,” Dr. Prasad's memo said. “For the first time, the U.S. F.D.A. will acknowledge that Covid-19 vaccines have killed American children.”

Everybody is a regular at Starbucks. I guarantee a couple dozen people go to that Starbucks with just as much frequency if not more. Just going somewhere a lot doesn't make you a regular, especially if it's a corporate chain. "These folks establishment", listen to yourself! They don't own shit!
imagine getting mad that a business you have been leeching wifi from for months without ordering anything is asking you to at least order something if you're going to take up their tables for hours. like fuck starbucks but please be serious
