"Key priorities include embedding artificial intelligence (AI) learning opportunities into the curriculum, cultivating strategic partnerships, strengthening ties with external stakeholders...."

the call still coming from inside the house.
UPDATE: Following the firing of the director of the student newspaper, Indiana University has now cut the print edition of the newspaper entirely.

Indiana University cuts IDS print entirely, hours after firing student media director

IU previously directed the Indiana Daily Student to stop printing news coverage in our newspaper. Upon pushback, the university fully cut print, including our special editions. The IDS was not involved in the decision.

Media School Dean David Tolchinsky sent the order to IDS leadership in an email responding to its appeal that the school not censor the newspaper. And the dean attributed the decision to “the campus.” He has not yet responded to a message for clarification.
This is exactly backwards, the no kings protests are a mass movement of regular people that have every republican politician in the country raging about "hate America rallies," and the online protest industry weirdos who say shit like "radlib" to each other are the ones skimming off the top of them
it is no wonder that 50501, a movement of radlibs who are very upset but don’t want to get in trouble, would be boosting superficial activism.

superficial activism has its place, but if that place is front and center, it kills whatever movement it is skimming off the top of.

It's really not about politics anymore. The apparatus of the Republican Party has simply become a haven for bad people.

Hot take *What Does It All Mean?” By Thomas Nagel. In the intro he says he wrote it for beginning college students or even high school students - It’s pretty dated now but because of the target audience it’s written in a very plain and understandable way.
I am so close to thinking that this kind of “here’s what gamers *really* want” is part of an intentional propaganda strategy to alienate young men from women, but also to alienate them from themselves.
Pope to journalists: “…it is worth remembering Hannah Arendt’s warning that ‘the ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction and the distinction between true and false no longer exist.’”

I hate profiles of conservatives who are worried that their country is changing and would welcome profiles of liberals and leftists who are afraid of same thing from the opposite direction and treated their concerns the same kind of reflexive deference

Outside of the Broadview ICE facility, a state trooper tells the delegation attempting to have communion with detainees that ICE has denied their request.
Coalition for Spirituality & Public Life host a Eucharistic Procession from St. Eulalia in Maywood to the ICE Detention Center in Broadview where there will be prayer & Communion. The Coalition will also try to bring Holy Communion to those detained in the facility, which is a right by Illinois law.
The shameless GOP lying about the No Kings gatherings scheduled for next Saturday reveals how deeply hostile much of the Republican Party is to “the right of the people peaceably to assemble.” I look forward to our local No Kings event, and urge my fellow Americans to attend in their communities.
I really regret cutting the following line from one of my papers: “we ought to be disgusted by bigots and tyrants.”
Disgust is about getting extreme distance from sources of contagion - there are some differences that emerge in what things people find disgusting between right and left, but the emotion is there.

They say the only things certain in life are death and taxes.

But America’s billionaires, having taken care of the latter, are now trying to disrupt the former—and make sure nobody can pry their fortunes from their cold dead hands.

They are not planning "a violent crackdown" on 10.18. What they are doing is sending a signal to their shock troops to try to cause havoc. But those shock troops will be vastly outnumbered. Go out and protest freely. Do not be cowed.

"Faith without works is dead" really is the vibe and while this is just one example I found it a particularly striking rebuke of the idea that you can be Spiritually supportive of the poor or whatever while doing fuck-all
Counterpoint: *segregation* might not be enough for them.
“Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family’s food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.”
