Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) says Pete Hegseth should "resign immediately" if it's true he gave a directive to “kill everybody” in a strike on boats in the Caribbean, including a second strike to kill survivors of the first strike.

“If the reports are true, Pete Hegseth likely committed a war crime."

Good thread on World AIDS Day and what it meant in 1990s to care for people with AIDS. Since I was a little younger, I was not of the gen doing this care but grew up knowing colleagues, teachers, and camp counselors who did and lost loved ones—a big part of what it meant to be queer as I came of age
Since our fucking government isn’t observing World AIDS Day, I will. In 1990, I started taking care of people in the last stages of AIDS in their homes. I did this for nearly two years. The home care company I worked for had meetings for those of us who solely (or nearly solely) took care of PWAs.

People on board the boat were said to have survived an initial strike and were killed in a follow-up attack. Officials said the boat appeared to have turned back toward shore. Three sources, including Sen. Rand Paul said the boat was attacked by one or more drones.

True! Bezos is not exercising *control* over the news side, and this story is huge. Also true: if he hadn’t tried to run the paper as a whole into a wall it wouldn’t have lost a couple ranks of its most celebrated reporters and editors and would be publishing stories like these three times as often.
I haven't seen much talk about The Washington Post breaking perhaps the most important and damaging story of Trump's second term. (Yes, The Intercept had it first.) I keep telling you that Bezos has restricted his damage to the opinion section. wapo.st/4olRXM5
Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

To kick people out of the USA—many of whom are indigenous to the Americas—they are disregarding the tribal IDs of Native (US) Ameicans, ignoring the treaties of 100+ years standing with the people who are, you know, the REAL Americans.
“Trish Carter-Goodheart, a Democratic candidate and citizen of the Nez Perce Tribe, spoke plainly: Racism and discrimination remain real and persistent …

When the conversation hit a nerve, [the GOP senator] abruptly stormed out, shouting: ‘Why don’t you go back to where you came from?’”
Tribal IDs Are Federally Recognized. ICE Agents Are Ignoring Them.
Opinion. During last year’s Idaho election, a Republican state senator lost his composure when a candidate forum turned to the topic of racism.
