It was good to co-author alongside @clarekelly.bsky.social & Caitríona Leahy & with the input from Harun Šiljak & Norah Campbell. We are clearly not the only ones thinking like this, both within Trinity & beyond, so let's build community to #resistAI

James Hankins, formerly of Harvard? He's 70 yo, so perhaps he retired, calling it "leaving." You know, for attention. He can be a gaping a$$hole while being an excellent historian of the Renaissance. The latter has little to do w/ being a kind, thoughtful, tolerant, or good person.

And, we are surprised, because...? The fish rots from the head down. The abuse administration. ICK.

What is a Roma Daravi & why would anyone care about her misguided take? Public artists, Ms. Daravi? Is the government paying their salaries? Unlikely. Think before you comment on social media.

Am I the only one who thinks 2025 was unusually short?

Ah damn!!! I completely forgot the 5th anniversary (on December 28) of the publication of Mobilizing Black Germany . 5 years later and remain excited that more than 3 people have read it. Thank you to all the supporters (and the haters).

Is there nothing else to be had? 😀

The Monarchy had a number of official languages, and my memory is that FJ's announcement was published in all of them. BTW, while the Jews of Galicia and elsewhere used Yiddish, the Jews of Bohemia and Trieste did not, etc. Of course, none of the Sephardim did.

I am accurate! 😀

Nor have I. Great question. You should be an historian! 😘It may be a German thing, but this is Habsburg. Was the miniature address available in all of the languages of the Monarchy? How about Hebrew? @avielroshwald.bsky.social, do you know? (PS Where in Galicia?)

It so is. Aviel is really interesting. Also, a very talented historian.

You're quite on top of things. 😘 It's a silly rumor. We're wondering about the source!!!!

@blenormand.bsky.social & @lewisbaston.bsky.social, other ARs I'd left off. There are so many others. 😘

My comment to the rumor that ppl in the humanities are drifting away from archives. I always thought archives was the theme for "How I spent my summer vacation." 😀

Not all archival documents are Kurrenschrift! The Czech handwriting isn't bad. Also, starting around the 1880s, there are typewriters in the Austrian government offices!
