You cannot find a car that excels in handling, fuel efficiency, passenger space, cargo space, and convenience like this one. I can transport almost anything, park almost anywhere, navigate any road, and most importantly PURSUE ANY FASCIST in this thing

every clip of ice in minnesota that isn't active footage of people being brutalised is always eight guys in a huddle wearing masks and full tactical gear standing outside a midwestern convenience store

i do think that one reason doomerism is prevalent among americans is that capitalism conditioned us to expect convenience at every step, and it teaches us to give up if there isn't an immediate, easy solution

increasingly convinced that making sure the things around you are truly yours (irrevocable, repairable, etc) is punk

refusing to participate in the erosion of control for convenience and exerting ownership over the things in your life is a small sabotage of the Rent Everything powers
Hold onto your hardware for as long as possible unless you don’t care and want everything done on the cloud through fuck ass subscription models I guess

To those that use AI despite the moral issues, because it makes things "easier:"

Is that really all it takes to break your morals? Minor fucking inconvenience?

Plastics have created an island in the ocean for the sake of convenience.

Fossils fuels have shattered our environment for convenience.
And all some of us in academia can say in response to this reality is: ‘but it helps me write emails’ or ‘I use it to make teaching easier’ and the failure to think critically and structurally is so frustrating

Ok so if you're still using Spotify I highly suggest you stop
(Personally I use Qobuz for streaming convenience but buy the mp3 from bandcamp if possible and from retailers if not)
Bandcamp has a strong anti ai policy and is committed to artists
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

I’ve been following this case for several years. Finally, a judge in Milwaukee brought a grieving father’s 13-year quest for justice to a close, accepting a plea deal for two men who were criminally charged for their role in the 2012 killing of teenager Corey Stingley at a convenience store.

The world’s autocracies and autocratic would-bes are super clear that they are allies in this conflict right now, even if only allies of convenience for the time being. Everyone else needs to understand that.
i think, however, this is a crystal clear example that the next cold war is actually democracy vs autocracy and the battle lines run right through every single advanced democracy. there aren't really any safe harbors.

Amazon is the one. You can get almost everything from local shops. It's just convenience and a sunk cost fallacy if you subscribe.

People on her salary don't even need credit cards, they're merely a convenience.

Selfishness and a lack of empathy seem to be a common trait among those on the right.
Cheryl Casone of Fox Business was asked what she thought of Trump's demand that credit card companies lower interest rates to 10% for one year. She agreed with the banks and a billionaire that it's a bad idea. She also said good Americans pay their bills on time.

In front of a Thai convenience store, a stray dog was staring intently at the toys in a claw machine. A kind big brother who noticed that gently bought it for him "first toy" as a present. Good for you. 🥰🙏🐕
