A few weeks ago, a white, conventionally attractive journalist in her 20s was defending Nuzzi to me (her argument, iirc, was essentially “girl boss”).
I think eviscerating Nuzzi for her ethical failures is important if for no other reason than the next generation of journalists is watching closely.

My 7 year old daughter simply cannot function in school without ADHD meds. I cannot fathom anybody who has ever met her actually saying that she shouldn't be on medication.
every time the pediatric adhd medication discourse starts up, i gotta remind folks that getting pediatric adhd behavioral therapy is nearly impossible to get for many families. one of the worst shortages out there. medication is often the only realistic option available to desperate parents

people easily comprehend autism is be different degrees of disabling in different people without any inherent limitations on how severe. with ADHD they think there is a limit and that even at its most disabling it can be overcome with motivation and virtue
My kids go to a "rich" public school. My daughter is 7 and cannot read; she is a sweet, caring, intelligent child, but if you spend a moment with her it is clear that she has ADHD an order of magnitude more serious than what you think of when you hear "ADHD." Anybody questioning her IEP can fuck off
"Rich kids are gaming disability accommodations to gain an unfair advantage" is actually very different from "America has an extra-time-on-tests problem" — and the author hasn't proved that either! Rich kids might just be more likely to be diagnosed.

I would rather have a world where we all trust each other and accept that a few people will take advantage of it than a world where folks have to perform disability constantly in order to get the help they need. Let kids have an extra 30 minutes on the test, jesus fucking christ
