the status of the trans person in the terf brain is some Ur-Fascism deal: every trans person is so clockable that their very existence is ridiculous and offensive, but also anyone could be trans and you'd never know it
Graham Linehan is a normal and well man.

Dimension 20: Cloudward, Ho! is officially part of the canon of Christmas movies

i don't care that it's twenty episodes that are each two hours long, start watching it two weeks before Christmas if you have to

It reminds me of that piece where they were like "people prefer ai poetry to human poetry, and assume the ai is human and the human is ai" like a whole bunch of people have an inherent slop affinity and it makes me feel like an alien

All my friends and family just constantly believe ai stuff is real and send it to me with zero skepticism but then if I try to send or tell them anything absolutely real they'll be like "well everything's ai these days, how can you be sure" it is driving me insane
sorta coming around to the view that the social danger of genAI images is less that they'll make people believe fabricated things are real and more that they'll make people believe real things are fabricated

you elites who can afford movie tickets and streaming might think that Luke Skywalker died unmarried

the true proletarian Star Wars fans know he married Mara Jade, the Emperor's Hand, and had a kid named Ben who did *not* turn evil

i *have to* get into the habit of closing some browser tabs before i switch to another app

i just spent a couple of hours closing FOUR HUNDRED tabs, with some dating back to JULY

and because i am an utter fool, i bookmarked probably 5-10% of them before i could bring myself to close them for good

Sleeping with a source is, yes, an ethical violation because it creates the *appearance* of bias.

Acting as their political fixer and campaign adviser, using your journalistic network to do so, is *factual* harm and a betrayal of the highest order--especially when you do it for Eugenics McGee.

i have to remember to check back in later to see if someone leaked it

i believe that people deserve fair pay for their work. Lizza isn't an exception to this. but since the proper compensation in this case is a negative number, we're actually doing him a solid by rounding it to zero.
the only ethical way to read this is by stealing an AmEx card from that awful man's wallet to pay for the subscription, reuploading the post to something like pastebin, and then doing a chargeback

Lizza is making it clear that he could hide a lot of unethical activities in the profession so long as he wasn't cheated on by his partner with multiple men.
The entire marquee journalism just as rotten as the people they cover.

It’s incredibly pathetic.

If fascism often grows out of humiliation, it’s strange how quickly people reach for the same wound-economy that created it. Bullying just reenacts the conditions that breed the thing they claim to fight. Pain for pain doesn’t break the cycle, it deepens the grooves.

I have been wary of "deserve".

I suspect that a lot of fascists are fascists *because* they were bullied by their peers and/or abused by authority figures

Obviously there are people who were abused or bullied who aren't fascists. But it's not clear to me that there are many fascists who weren't abused or bullied in some way.
