ICE raids are not the first time this was made explicit. I think people downplay how much Jim Crow was not just about controlling Black people but it was also about controlling white people. If you thought racism was dumb and acted that way you could end up with a bomb in your home
Just keep coming back to the fact that keeping people in a constant state of terror is a form of mass disablement and essential to the eugenic project that is the United States.

It would be helpful if when people provided legal analysis of how states are required to defer to federal law enforcement, they would also explain which specific laws the federal agents are currently enforcing and how, functionally, the things the agents are doing enforce those laws

important too I think that they are badly *losing* the propaganda war. ICE is very unpopular, their actions are unpopular, the president is unpopular, reflected both in polls and in actual elections. 1
The inability to attack everywhere at once in any sustained way means their constant redeployments = time for former targets to recover, pending ones to prepare.

That’s true in budget terms. But they’ve flooded M-SP w over 1,000 ICE/CBP types.
That’s more than the combined MSP police forces … and ~3% the size of the NYPD.
Scale matters.

One thing that I’m not sure the general public quite gets is how small the Twin Cities are compared to the other metros that have experienced moments like this. DC metro is about twice us. Chicago, LA, NYC vastly bigger.

I am introducing the Quick Recognition (QR) Act, which requires ICE and CBP officers to wear uniforms featuring QR codes. When scanned, the code would generate a digital ID displaying the officer’s name, badge number, and law enforcement agency.
