Y'know, in the ever pathetic and laborious discourse on the race of historical and mythological figures in media, I can't ever recall there being a significant backlash against the depiction of Xerxes and the Persians as homoerotic black men in 300 stories...

Almost as if it's not about accuracy...

Do you remember when people were saying "I think my phone is listening to me, i'm getting ads for stuff I spoke about" and people said "They arent listening to you, they're just this good at predicting your interests"?

Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.

we didn't finish denazification. we didn't finish desegregation. we didn't finish reconstruction. every opportunity for transformative change was deliberately sabotaged by american leaders who knew their wealth would not survive a world freed from eugenics, white supremacy, and war profiteering.

pathetic cowards pretending to be big manly men like all the women have been saying for the last decade but thanks for investigating i guess
WSJ investigation: In the past 6 months ICE agents have fired at vehicles 13 times, leading to:

* 8 people shot
* 5 of which were U.S. citizens
* 2 died
* no victims drew a weapon

The playbook: Agents box in a vehicle, block attempts to flee, then fire

A WSJ visual investigation found that the Minneapolis ICE killing is one of 13 incidents where federal immigration agents have used deadly force against civilians in vehicles since July.

Truly. I need all non-Black folk to understand that your surprise at how Good is being handled and her death is being laundered right now is an indictment of your understanding and belief in things Black folk have been saying for your whole life. You cannot both believe us and be surprised by this.
Black people five years ago: you know, they can kill anyone they want to out there

Everybody today: hot damn, did you know they can kill anyone they want to out there?

One, you live in a country that's foundation is slavery and genocide of black & brown people.

Two, the only reason ICE exist is to go after black & brown people and kick them out of the country.

And three, you talk about wanting to be united, yet y'all never listen to black & brown people.
Sure, lets bring race into it yet again. She isn't the first white woman they have killed. She's the second and no one said squat about the first one. They have killed 9 people so far of all colors. Comments like yours are what creates division when we need to be united. Maybe lay off the MAGA talk.

"Maduro is a brutal authoritarian dictator," I wisely intone, as the corrupt demented paedophile US President violating Constitutional Law while operating a gestapo and concentration camps illegally arrests a foreign leader on charges which read like they were written on a paper placemat in crayon.

I wish I were surprised to learn that Australia's ban on social media for kids under 16 was pushed by an ad firm to get the government to stop considering a law that would ban online gambling ads. skepchick.org/2025/12/aust...

Everyone knows about Ahmed al-Ahmad, the Syrian Muslim migrant who took down one gunman. Another man, a Middle Eastern refugee, ran into a firefight and kicked the gun away from the other gunman. Police shot him, and bystanders kicked him in the head while he was down, thinking he was the terrorist.

I kinda want to start writing essays again... A weird desire, I know, but it always helped me feel like I had a firm grasp on language skills that I worry I've lost since school... Plus it can be kinda fun? And I could try using that to start in writing stories of my own idk?

A much better way to express appreciation for games than commercial industry centered awards shows, and frankly, just some good insights, as always.
I really need to keep slogging through Silksong....
The best games of 2025 give a glimpse into a better world — where artists can invite audiences into their memoirs, where AAAs are thematically ambitious and small teams can sculpt epics.

This is also my 100th(!!) proper video on YouTube, a milestone seven years in the making

Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.
I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

I sure hope that the success of Mamdani and the rise of Polanski's greens is a catalyst for other socialist aligned groups around the world to confidently challenge the status quo, because what they are doing is clearly working.
I don't have faith in electoralism, but it can be used for some change.
