Too many of our Haitian neighbors are stuck in legal limbo. As the fight over Temporary Protected Status continues, we encourage anyone with TPS to use the city’s free immigration legal support and explore every legal pathway available. Call 800-354-0365 to learn more.

Five-year-old me: Oooh, that Batman cartoon! What adventures will he go on today?

*the villain is left in tears, unable to process their fears and obsessions. And Batman, a looming presence born of the inability to rationalize terror, is the only one there to comfort them*

Me: Oh. Huh.

impartiality and objectivity mean that you should be willing to decisively favor one side if the evidence suggests it. i think what the news has opted for instead is probably best termed 'relativism'
There's a point at which "impartiality" becomes gaslighting. The BBC has crossed this point.

If King Charles III had the courage...
is there a law against mark carney becoming British PM
not to lib out but if anybody in labour made a speech that demonstrated even 70% of the understanding of what’s happening and, importantly, the willingness to explain what’s happening as that mark carney one, they should obvs just coronate them leader now and save everybody the faff

I don’t think victory is even a concept for them. To the extent there is a plan, it’s the endless creation of content to rile up their base for the midterms.

In other words, the Twin Cities is the backdrop for a more violent sequel to 2018’s “migrant caravan” story, likely with a similar outcome.
fantastic piece from my colleague @polgreen.bsky.social that gets at something i have been thinking about. what, exactly, is the administration's strategic goal in minnesota? what does "victory" look like for trump and miller?

Broke: ICE

Woke: Abolish ICE

Bespoke: Abolish ICE with a Gorsuch majority opinion
Looks like ICE is now cracking down on … Native Americans.

This letter was just posted by the chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North/South Dakota:

“Our Nation is a sovereign government and our members are not immigrants. We are not subject to immigration enforcement on our own lands.”

The fact that the cover image referenced the city serves as a reminder that Silicon Valley oiigarchs can only aspire to our glory.
NYC should have been TIME's Person of the Year.
Year 1 data on congestion pricing in Manhattan…

* Vehicle traffic: -11%
* Foot traffic: +3.4%
* Storefront vacancy: -0.9%
* Pollution: -22%
* Revenue for mass transit: $548M

So YES this has been a huge success.

As a Benevolent Dictator, I would force Steven Spielberg to make MLK public domain.

Playing along, Mindhunter season 3.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.
