Reporting and analyzing from the ground in Philadelphia! People here are terrified we'll be Noem's next target.

But some city leaders, including DA Larry Krasner, have a plan to scare off ICE. I think it would work — if the mayor will allow it.

As federal agents increasingly use force against residents, states must take every action possible to uphold the constitutional rights guaranteed to everyone on US. soil. That’s why Sen. Comitta and I introduced legislation to allow Pennsylvanians to challenge federal abuses of power in state court.

remember when there was a BLM protest in Philadelphia and the cops "found" a child who'd been "abandoned" by his mother and then it turned out a woman had made a wrong turn and they'd dragged her out of her car and beat the shit out of her and then kidnapped her nephew
DHS just sent another statement about ICE’s abduction of a 5-year-old in Minnesota.

They didn’t address my question about whether the child was moved to Texas. They also didn’t provide any evidence for their claims.

They are, however, claiming the child’s “alleged mother” actually abandoned him.

ICE’s cruelty knows no bounds. Deporting children with cancer. Shooting moms. And now, using a 5 year-old as “bait” to detain his family.

It’s far past clear: ICE must be abolished. Congress should not give it any additional funding. And the people responsible for its crimes should face charges.
"[M]asked agents apprehended 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos in his driveway on Tuesday...[the agent] led him to the door and directed him to knock on the door asking to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home, essentially using a 5-year-old as bait.”

So far, I am only seeing TPM, Mediaite, and Daily Beast focusing on this.

We live in a world where the president calling an ethnic group "very low IQ" and "bad for our country" while insisting they "ought to get the hell out of here" barely makes headlines. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/trump-m...

This is correct. I don't trust politicians who aren't pro-trans, because the only quality I'm looking for in a politician is that they will use their power to protect marginalized people. If they're willing to sacrifice trans people, they'll be willing to sacrifice anyone.
I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.

ICE must be abolished. It has become a lawless, rogue agency. Federal law enforcement agencies must follow the law, if they're going to have any credibility enforcing it.

We are demanding justice for Renee Good and the prosecution of ICE agent Jonathan Ross for her murder.

So Reacher is basically a live-action shonen anime, I guess?

I'm definitely enjoying it more when viewing it through that lens.

Migrating a domain away from Wix, I wanted a copy of the existing records. Naturally, Wix does not support this and their dns editor webpage prevents a simple cut&paste from capturing the full names. But the full names are available in mouseover popups. Ugh, time to fight BeautifulSoup again I guess

Or just keep platforming Republicans who have a 5th grade understanding of biology so they get more trans people killed, sure 🤷🏻‍♂️

Congratulations, those of you who decided to platform fringe voices and create a climate of fear and hate out of ignorance because those voices insisted a non-problem was a problem. They're now on an HHS stage trying to ruin children's lives. You will live with the harm you have done forever.

Hey @chrismurphyct.bsky.social, you talk a good game about fighting back against MAGA, so why are you teaming up with MAGA folks to require intrusive, privacy destroying surveillance that can and will be abused by those you keep warning us about?
The GUARD Act may look like a child-safety bill, but in practice it’s an age-gating mandate that could impose a mass censorship and surveillance regime on nearly every public-facing AI chatbot. Tell Congress to oppose the GUARD Act today. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...
A Surveillance Mandate Disguised As Child Safety: Why the GUARD Act
A new bill sponsored by Sen. Hawley (D-MO), Sen. Blumenthal (D-CT), Sen. Britt (R-AL), Sen. Warner (D-VA), and Sen. Murphy (D-CT) would require AI chatbots to verify all users’ ages, prohibit minors
