I went on Substack to suggest to Simon Rosenberg that there might be some valid reasons for Minneapolis activists to be suspicious of Dem party fundraising. Ooof.

Corey Booker announcing his legislation to make ICE wear body cameras a week after the entire Republican Party excused an ICE officer murdering somebody by showing the video the officer took with his own cell phone of him murdering them is a testament to how stupid Democrats think all of us are.

President Deals
Now it's really done: the liberals of Renew Europe joins the EPP and the Socialists to delay the ratification of the EU-US trade deal. The three centrist parties have a majority in the chamber to make it happen.

The European Parliament is NOT voting this deal.
Renew Europe leader Valérie Hayer says Trump's 10% tariff announcement is "unacceptable":

"These announcements follow many other agressive actions towards the EU. Therefore, it is now time to move from reliance to deterrence. Consequently, Renew Europe cannot vote the EU-US Turnberry trade deal."

Hearing that Keir Starmer had "never been Trump's little bitch like Nigel Farage is" and has been standing tough for a whole year. More as history is rewritten..

It’s fun how the public were repeatedly told Starmer had played a blinder with his relentless ball-sucking deference to the Donald but now, once it can no longer be denied, it turns out it was all sycophancy, grovelling, fawning and turning a blind eye. Weird! How did that happen?

man I thought starmer was a fucking genius for agreeing to pay more for US drugs to avoid tariffs. Who could've predicted President Deals might come back with more tariffs? Nobody!

fortunately they've found the one quick trick to stopping opinion columnists from lying
Apparently the catch is that people who write opinion columns in major outlets will describe "abolish ICE" as interchangeable with "open borders"
Democrats see polling on immigration swinging in their favor, but it comes with a catch

My mayor told me police keep killing his constituents so I asked how many constituents he has and he said he just gives the police more money for training afterwards so I said it sounds like he’s just paying the police to kill his constituents and then Matt Yglesias started crying.

It’s terrible, Matt, and you should feel bad for writing this fact-free and ludicrous bit of nonsense. Imagine seriously publishing a piece that says the democrats (lol) are capable of a ‘ferocious cultural revolution’ or that US academics and leftists were
UTTERLY unmoored from reality.
My first @rollingstone.com column is now live! Thanks for reading and reposting, and please consider subscribing if you don’t already. (Piece also available on Apple News.)

Like Bastani & the rest of the Novara crew its been obv since at the v latest her book promotion tour, Sarkar is on a lifelong quest to be taken seriously by political media class centrists & is totally chill fucking over some vulnerable groups in the hope of a pat on the head from a Times columnist
Totally agree though I'm not sure this is just a centrist position. On Novara Media's end-of-2025 review, Ash Sarkar spoke of the need to avoid 'low-salience & low levels of support' issues like trans rights in order to build coalitions, but leaving minorities behind is a depressing message.

Stephenson is fully aware that her collaborative correspondence with anti-trans extremist groups will be exposed through FOI requests

She likely doesn’t care

She knows the Labour government that appointed her is equally committed to erasing, targeting, harassing, and terrorising Trans+ people
Chair of EHRC seeking a meeting with Sex Matters to discuss not only ‘mutual priorities’ but also ‘ways to work together going forward’! 🤔

Utterly inappropriate from a supposedly neutral Chair of the EHRC. Interested to see what will @commonswec.parliament.uk have to say?
