We have formally reported the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) to the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI), calling for a full investigation and a downgrade or removal of their A-status accreditation.

Trans children denied participation in society because of the Supreme Court and EHRC. To attack us adults is one thing but to attack children is another. The UK needs to lose its GANHRI A accreditation.

Applying a biological interpretation to any duty to control toilet access is unworkable - the biological sex of another toilet user is likely to be unknown and may be unknowable (because birth certificates may be updated with a GRC). This results in an incoherence between any requirement (toilet access based upon biological sex not gender identity) and the practice (toilet access based upon perceived gender not biological sex). Workers are unlikely to know the biological sex of another worker but they may infer their gender identity from how they present. This is recognised by the EAT in Croft (para 56) “In the massively preponderant number of cases the employer will have no reason to distinguish between sex and gender. If such papers as a person discloses identify him as male and he "presents" as male in the sense of dressing and appearing as a male, the employer can properly treat him as at law male as he will have no reason to think otherwise of him. So also in the corresponding case of someone presenting as a woman.”

It is understood that some Labour MPs as well as figures in the wider policy sector believe the current impasse is a distraction from other pressing issues, including the rise of the far right and its impact on the communities served by the EHRC. They have been encouraging applications for the commissioner roles from those they feel take a more nuanced approach to trans inclusion. One Labour backbencher said: “As these posts are coming up, it’s important to have that broad range of experience and expertise on the board, and within those discussions we’ve been saying please do encourage people from the trans community to consider it, or have you thought of applying? “That broad range was essential from when EHRC was first set up but may have been narrowed with more political appointments under the Conservatives. “When a group of us met some of the current board members and the current chair, we felt very strongly that an understanding of the impact of the supreme court ruling on the trans community wasn’t there.” Another Labour backbencher said they hoped more people would apply: “We need commissioners with real world experience of the issues they grapple with.” Stonewall said the arrival of the new chair and commissioners was an opportunity “to rebuild an EHRC that re-establishes fairness, balance, and respect at its core”. CEO Simon Blake said: “We are living in a time of uncertainty and turbulence for many; this is an opportunity to review the strategic approach of our National Human Rights Institute so everyone – including trans people – can benefit from the rights and freedoms the EHRC is constituted to protect and defend.”

Nearly 2 years ago someone posted an NHS surgeons list for sex-affirming surgery on r/transgenderUK. When we couldn't find an updated version anywhere, we contacted NHS Arden Gender Dysphoria National Referral Support Services directly and got the current list. Link below :)

A population coverage of over 16 million people in the review - and just two complaints for the entirety of 2024!

One complaint was about the 'guidelines' for transgender access to bathrooms.

The second complaint was based on the 'perceived' gender of a person. Not confirmed as a trans person.

Apparently, they are comparing two groups, with one group experiencing an arbitrary one-year delay in prescription. But where is the group that skips the blockers entirely and goes straight to GAHT? You need to include that group as a variable for the study to be scientifically valid, right?

The “Pathways” trial is, IMO on more than one level, a thoroughly unethical piece of “research” to be carrying out on children, especially children who are part of a marginalised minority.

The level of questioning, assessments, examinations and review panels before eligibility is HUGE. No-one has immediate start - don't use this phrasing

Already seeing some terrible takes on here about supporting science re the puberty blocker trial.

Science that is unethical & designed terribly, influenced by those who don't want us to exist, is never ever going to lead to useful outcomes.

& this trial will cause immense harm to participants.
