A friend was referred to a GIC in 2023, and now the GIC has turned around and claimed that they're not in their system (their GP record confirms a referral was sent)

I think people’s position is that FIRE chose to file an amicus brief in support of a right-wing group that led to a court ruling that appears to carve out a special constitutional protection for malicious and discriminatory behaviour in a school setting.
If you want to say "your First Amendment position makes it more difficult to prevent bullying against trans kids," that is a totally legitimate position -- and true. The First Amendment makes it more difficult to stop a lot of things that should be stopped.

Apparently I’m on Wrecks that Changed the World (Episode 4) on PBS this evening, talking about HMS Prince of Wales, Pearl Harbor etc. I wasn’t even sure they’d ever made the programme (I did a day of interviews at FAAM between lockdowns and never heard any more from them)
