As someone whose PhD was in human population genetics and evolution:

Race is a social construct

Gender is a social construct

Both have biological *components* but are incredibly complex - not neat, discrete, immutable categories

Fascists are the ones denying scientific reality

Apparently, not believing this is “insane.”

Important to note that for fascists, ALL the identity categories (race, sex, etc.) have to be “real” and frozen so they can manage them

What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.

To be clear I'm not saying this to deny your experience, I wholly believe you. I just know I'm a trans man who didn't start with male-presenting ADHD. There is probably all sorts of complex developmental and hormonal stuff at play here.

Too bad all that research is on the banning list now 🤪

Transmasc geneticist with ADHD here. I'm glad you shared this because I find it fascinating. I wonder how common of an experience this is among trans women and if it has been studied at all

One of the earliest effects of starting T was my ADHD went from female-typical presentation to male-typical

My parents were both public school teachers. 30 years ago I said I wanted to be a teacher like them

They begged me not to and explained how the education system is being destroyed by rich Republicans. By the time I was an adult, teachers won't be able to actually teach

I hate that they were right
