It would be interesting to see the administration's lens for Europe applied to Russia, which it seems to esteem. Russia's decline in population and share of global GDP is far worse, and the war on Ukraine has worsened both.

There's a little bit of self delusion involved here on the part of the Supreme Court. People with their eyes open cannot presume judicial good faith.
