my dad and i got into an elevator with pat sajak and his son(?) and right when i thought my dad would keep his mouth shut he said “i’d like to buy a vowel” like it was the funniest thing in the world, to dead silence. later sajak tweeted something about what a long day it’d been

I am not complaining, I genuinely think it’s really funny that they keep doing it, but my girlfriend’s family, I think don’t really get the “alt comics” adjacent aspect with my work and every year for Christmas they just get me Garfield merchandise.

i think he has legitimate concerns that deserve to be heard. what if other newspapers can't succeed because the nyt has a biological advantage? or what if they feel uncomfortable sharing a bathroom with the nyt? are we supposed to just disregard those concerns out of a sense of "wokeness"?
This is as easy a test of your belief in the American system as is conceivable: Should this be an acceptable argument from a president?
