People won't even notice that they are now spending a majority of their time and effort not doing the hobby but researching and purchasing things related to that hobby. Their brain just views both as doing the hobby.

For any given hobby, it actively requires effort to actually keep doing that hobby instead of simply buying paraphernalia for that hobby.

Since there are billion-dollar ecosystems dedicated to turning whatever hobby you have into the hobby of buying stuff for that hobby, you have to actively resist this decay.

Every hobby decays into becoming a meta-hobby of just buying the shit involved in doing that hobby. It's a lot easier than using that stuff, after all, and gives the exact same sense of accomplishment.

Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.
