I say we choose one person who "needs to hear this," and we visit all the things needed to be heard onto them. Kinda like the old village tradition of having a Sin Eater come by.

Please stop saying “I don’t know who needs to hear this.” No one does. This is the internet

I'm on a role lately. Got my old warhorse done, Masami. It was alot of fun to work on her design and really shake it up a bit.

This is cool after the war on everything called “porn” by platforms and payment processors. A machine that stole all your words can generate and sell “erotica” but you can’t haaa

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year
We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

hahahaha I've read this exact internal corpo speak from the other end

"this isn't about high usage users" yes it is lmao
edzitron.com
Jesus christ. AI coding platform Augment code had to jack up prices because 22.5% of their users were spending 20x of what they paid, and even after raising the prices, they're still running at a loss.
reddit.com/r/AugmentCod...
A handful of users abused the system so all are getting punished.

This isn't about a few high-usage users. The reality is that approximately 22.5% of our users are consuming 20x what they're currently paying us. This isn't sustainable for us to continue delivering the quality service you expect. We have built some very powerful tools and we don’t want to impose artificial limits on what’s possible, but we do need to be able to charge in proportion to the use customers are getting from our platform. Developers are always going to push their tools to their limits, and we encourage that — and we need to be able to charge for it appropriately, too.

You only care about professional developers.

Our core focus is on building the best AI coding agent for professional software engineers and their teams. If people outside of that group are finding value with Augment, they are very welcome to use the product, but we’re not prioritizing features or solutions that non-developers might need, and frankly, there are plenty of vibe coding/low code/no code solutions available on the market that will better serve those customers.

You are just squeezing money out of us at 20x margin.

20x margin sounds great, but isn’t the reality for AI tools: the vast majority are running at a loss, including us, while we work to build sustainable, long-term businesses.

I need everyone to follow Sword and Board Games so that when we release Tetrarchy, I can force you all to learn abut the deep and tragic lore of Johnny Gunface (the man whomst's face is a gun)
swordnboardstudios.bsky.social
We here at Sword & Board Games are already deep in the process of developing our next game, and as part of that our lead artist @zackonline.bsky.social has done a lot of sketches for various project ideas. With that being said I would like to highlight this sketch of a man whomst face is also a gun.

The primary weapon of the Haagenti legions is the Radgun, a devastating anti-infantry weapon designed to agonizingly melt soft targets in a cone in front of the legionnaire with radioactive waves. Often deployed to brutally put down seditious demonstrations, a practice known as crowd clearance.

DDT isn't part of the Holy Trinity but I think we can definitely consider it an intercessory saint of Industry, like the Marian figure or something, because holy shit if you don't care about birds and hate mosquitoes it's goddamn good stuff
sjklapecki.itch.io
lead, petroleum, and asbestos are the holy trinity of "genuinely extremely useful and the best at what they do, but will also absolutely fucking kill you" because if you don't know about lead poisoning, climate change, or mesothelioma, there's really nothing that beats 'em.

yeah I wouldn't call myself an expert but I definitely know and have opinions, feel free

All MREs are replaced with the Black Soup of Sparta to encourage the "warrior ethos"

Despite initial concerns, troop morale has improved.

"Honestly?" says J. Ughed, a marine stationed in Texas, "tastes better than the pork-and-rice. Bit weird we're being given cigarettes again though."
isilanka.bsky.social
I think you could actually get a slightly drunk Hegseth (ie regular Hegseth) to advocate for testudo training in the marines on the grounds that legionaries were the manliest of men

Nothing can, toe-to-toe, match a battleship in raw firepower.

Nothing needs to match a battleship in raw firepower.

We can drop bombs directly on to their decks. Smash their sides with torpedoes. Circle around and fire guns into it as it struggles to keep us in its sights. Outgun? No. Outsmart.
sjklapecki.itch.io
But fascists adore the battleship because it's huge, masculine, imposing, it can shell cities and terrorize civilians, it is a living symbol of might and power and industrial capacity: things you can say of aircraft carriers, but which one has giant, phallic protrusions you can gawk over?
sjklapecki.itch.io
Every single major battleship engagement I can think of has smaller ships as a vital, if not singularly important, factor in who wins. We have not lived in an era of broadsides and volley-fired cannons for centuries. The battleship is the evolution of an obsolete tactic. It is a dead, empty, idea.
sjklapecki.itch.io
Battleships are slowmoving, massive, gunladen boats in the era of planes, drones, and missiles. They are an anachronism like the armored knight or phalanx, outdone by technology that put smaller, faster things on par with even the best battleships in practical terms: speed matters more than gun size
sjklapecki.itch.io
Because the fundamental problem of battleships is this: they are armed and equipped to attack coastal areas and giant, slow-moving targets like other battleships. Cruisers, destroyers, and planes, all do one of those two things better. Aircraft carriers do both better, objectively.
sjklapecki.itch.io
Planes and smaller ships fucked it up! In the Battle of Samar, it sank ships but the Japanese lost ships from plane fire and destroyers once forced it off the field for a while, submarines and planes attacked it and forced it to go for repairs, it was never OUTGUNNED, but outmaneuvered.
sjklapecki.itch.io
So basically, the 46cm guns on the Yamato could singlehandedly blow up any ship, but the number of "ifs" - if the crew was trained, if the seas were calm, if you could hit the other ship - meant that the Yamato didn't really sink other ships. Y'know what happened to it, though?
sjklapecki.itch.io
Battleships can bring an insane amount of firepower to a battle, yeah, but that firepower has long not actually been relevant - no matter what, there's only so thick armor can be until it can't be used on a ship, and every other thing you have on that ship - big cannons, etc - will thin your armor.
sjklapecki.itch.io
The absolute shortest version is that even before things like anti-ship missiles, the battleship was obsolete. Arguably, it was rendered obsolete by the concept of "rifled cannons," but the main thing is that a battleship is huge, full of guns, and slow. These are all very bad for a ship.
captainhelion.bsky.social
You should explain why to me
sjklapecki.itch.io
it has a roughly the same military sense as bringing back armored cavalry, or training the Marines to form the testudo, is quite possibly the single dumbest idea you could possibly attempt to implement in terms of return on investment
sjklapecki.itch.io
wait I just found out that Donald Trump seriously suggested bringing back battleships?

I don't think I have any friends on Bluesky who share the same cursed brain I do when it comes to military shit but let me just tell you that it would be more feasible to introduce dragonriders to the air force
sjklapecki.itch.io
like the writers of South park at least probably aren't knowledgeable enough about lesbianism to specifically think of using a labrys to decapitate an, at the very least, gender non-conforming person
sjklapecki.itch.io
I'm honestly kind of in awe of how self-loathing this synopsis seems, it never rises above South park level stereotyping and frequently sinks below
