Through 14 innings of fearless, near-perfect playoff baseball, this was the gutsiest call of the night.

This will be honored 30 years from tonight.
Midway through the 15th inning, the beloved "Humpy" mascot picked up his first career victory in the Salmon Run race.

Moments later, Jorge Polanco sent the #Mariners to the ALCS for the first time in nearly a quarter-century.

In looking to post-midterms, I think one of the most important practical suggestions @joshchafetz.bsky.social offers here is to stop doing this futile nonsense of trying to enforce congressional subpoenas through litigation. Start hitting them with the sticks Congress actually controls instead.

"ICE and CBP must be abolished" is the only reasonable position. We can debate the specifics of new agencies for immigration functions, but these agencies are simply too infected with a culture of impunity, racism, and fascism to continue. They're gangs with badges.
Armed ICE agents trapped US citizens in a restaurant and demanded their papers. Federal agents walked into East African restaurants in Cedar-Riverside, MN. They closed and blocked the doors. Then they demanded to see everyone’s papers. Every person present was a US citizen.

Hi Senator. Glad you're posting to Bluesky. But kinda weird that you're trying to kill Section 230 at the same time which would make it very difficult for Bluesky to exist. Maybe think through that a bit more carefully?

There's a Hill bubble narrative, posing as savvy realism, in treating impeachment as some radioactive poison and so Democrats must squash any talk of it. But there's zero evidence for that. No polls back it up, nor recent history. It's all just pundit-brained conventional wisdom eating its own tail.

The only conclusion I can draw from this is that there is something physically wrong and cognitively wrong with Trump, he knows it, and he's angry and frightened.
Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

Maybe not a different minority leader - maybe he's great at managing the caucus and doing the other political work. But as a speaker this is terrible

Laws aren't real. They exist solely on account of buy-in from society's participants. Once one side disengages, you no longer reside in a society based on laws. You live in a society based on power and armed force. I am begging folks to accept this so we can get moving.

A court with a normal-ish conservative majority would have been tolerable. I'm not eager for court packing, impeaching justices, and other such options. But this court sticking around post-Trump is untenable. They've already torched their own legitimacy, the only question is what do we do about it.

The current Supreme Court has forfeited all legitimacy.

Democrats (and everyone) need to address that reality.

John Roberts > Roger Taney.

Court needs to expand. And have fixed terms—like *every* other supreme court in developed world. And have ethics rules, like all normal organizations.
