Trump has totally upended the failed project of the uniparty neocons by finding a way to combine their two least favorite things, the War on Drugs and the War on Terror.

One reason (and there were obviously many) that Earle-Sears faceplanted is because she tried to run this play while also explicitly running on the continuation of the status quo under Youngkin, which makes no sense
I will bang this drum until I am in the ground: Everyone paid attention to the "Kamala is for They/Them" part and not "President Trump is for you" part. Anti-trans sentiment became a placeholder for the idea that Democrats cared more about stuff other than the economy. 1/
I took on the mythology of the "Kamala is for they/them" ad. Since the morning after the 2024 election, trans people have been scapegoated for Harris' loss, with that infamous ad at the centre of recriminations.

But a deeper analysis shows that voters are largely indifferent to trans people.

TX-SEN is going to be a weird primary because there's not really any political daylight between Crocket and Tallarico, they just both have national profiles from getting Epic With It

This description of It's a Wonderful Life from Apple's store is technically accurate in every detail yet also somehow very funny.

I love that the two FNL breakouts were him and Jesse Plemons, i.e. the guy you would most expect to be a movie star just looking at him and the least
This guy is a home run hitter. Everyone saw him in The Wire and then in Creed and Black Panther in popcorn stuff, but he also wrecked shop on FNL and Fruitvale Station doing heavy emotional lift and put on performances with such incredible depth at a young age. He's just getting started.

Me (sighs): What does it remind you of, Jim

A friend of mine called it "changelings all the way down"
some significant part of this is just catch-all fear for “this is not the child I ordered” I think
Oh, here's a big surprise. The transphobes don't believe in ADHD either.

That weird Johnny-Depp-as-Raoul-Duke voice Bill Skarsgard was doing in the Welcome to Derry flashbacks meant it took me a while to realize he was supposed to be a regular guy in those scenes

There has to be a First Amendment loophole where we can outlaw him specifically saying certain words
RFK Jr: "All of the ingenuity of corporate America has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition and all the qualities that we want to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast."

Has anyone used StubHub successfully, I got Broadway tickets that are supposed to be released by the venue the day of, I'm guessing for anti-scalping reasons, but just wondering if people have done that without a hitch

So much modern film criticism is just that Colbert Report bit where he says The Chronicles of Narnia can’t be a Christian allegory because Jesus wasn’t a lion

This is Bernie Madoff
Oh good, Glenn Beck has created an AI George Washington. You will be shocked to learn that the AI George Washington created by Glenn Beck sounds exactly like what would happen if Glenn Beck built an AI George Washington to sound exactly like Glenn Beck.

We wanted to give the kitten a festive name and we were leaning toward Carol but then we remembered that was the name of an old neighbor everyone hated so she’s Holly.

I love the Somali birthright memes so much because they're a reminder that throughout human history the people whose circumstances give them every right to have no sense of humor at all tend to be funny as hell

It's not the only thing but a big part of how we got here is that everyone with final say over whether movies get financed or distributed calls them "deliverables"
