Cousin of U.S. citizen zip-tied, inappropriately touched, detained by ICE: They asked what could you be hiding under your hijab? Stuff like that. They even made jokes saying this is the wrong attire to try running away from us in. I feel upset—I call Minnesota home.

It’s law.

Active members of the Armed Forces should not obey unlawful or illegal orders.

This country deserves a President and federal law enforcement that uphold the law, not use the threat of prosecution to chill speech.

Pete Hegseth in 2016: “If you’re doing something that’s just completely unlawful and ruthless, then there is a consequence for that. That’s why the military said it won’t follow unlawful orders from their commander in chief.”

Dayanne Figueroa is a Chicagoan, an American citizen, a mother, and a victim of the Trump Administration’s cruel anti-immigrant agenda.

ICE agents smashed her car, pulled her with guns drawn, and violently arrested her.

Thank you for bravely sharing your story with Congress.

US citizen and veteran detained by ICE: I’m here as a veteran, father, and ordinary person who believes in our country. I respect law enforcement, but I also believe accountability is the foundation for respect. I was arrested and detained by ICE agents.

Rep. GARCIA: Our witnesses today have been in some cases abused, smeared, and mistreated by our own government. The Trump Administration is telling blatant lies about their conduct. You’re bringing light to what’s happening to US citizens as they interact with ICE and DHS.

Sen. BLUMENTHAL: This report ought to shock America’s conscience. At least 22 American citizens were treated in a way we would not tolerate for anyone. Our fellow citizens are being abused and mistreated by ICE agents and the United States government.

Sen. DURBIN: We are a nation of immigrants. I will do everything I can to help the next generation of immigrants to be part of America. I’m not giving up on you. Don’t give up on me.

Immigration advocate: We can take the cruelty we’re seeing, and with the inherent goodness of the American public, the years ahead can be the time to pass the Dream Act.

University provost: Dreamers are our future doctors, nurses, teachers, social workers, business owners, and tech and health leaders. Dream Act legislation means tens of thousands more students will be able to achieve the promise of their potential.

Reverend: Congress has the opportunity, power, and moral responsibility to pass the Dream Act. DACA recipients are Americans in every way except on paper. From a Christian point of view, they are made in the very image and likeness of God.
December 5, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Sen. CORTEZ MASTO: It’s heartbreaking to see the demonization of a community with nothing but the brightest. That’s what this fight is about. It starts with our Dreamers and their families.

Sen. DURBIN: This moment in history is terrible and challenging for Dreamers and for immigrants broadly. I’m angry and heartbroken watching masked federal agents parading in uniform with combat weapons in Chicago. It’s time to bring this madness to an end.
December 5, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Immigration advocate: It doesn’t have to be this way. The way our country is moving is not normal, and it will not stand. The Dream Act is a solution that demands decisive action from Congress.

Justice Department prosecutors should be subject to independent oversight.

Federal law prevents it right now, which is why Alex Acosta wasn’t held accountable for his sweetheart deal with Jeffrey Epstein.
