Also very good the Liberals are still persisting with the over the top Sinophobic rhetoric even though it’s pretty clear it cost them several seats in the last 2 federal elections and may have permanently damaged their relationship with a formerly reliable voting cohort.

Sweet Jeebus: German tech news reports that personal details of the entire WhatsApp userbase (3.5b accounts) were available online, unencrypted.

Austrian researchers tried unsuccessfully to alert Meta to this, and Meta only reacted after they’d scraped the entire dataset.

what gets me is that at least morrison looked like he was having fun wrecking the country, whereas i've never seen albanese without that shitty air of bored contempt, like the very role itself is beneath him #auspol
Gambling ruins lives. It is absolutely unacceptable that the Albanese government will continue to choose vested interests over the wellbeing of Australians and hide behind a watered-down policy - if they ever introduce one. We need action on gambling harms now.

If you can't deal with gambling ads, you really can't wipe your own arse.
I've had a weird life. Over 30 years I've worked with, but never for, governments both in Australia and abroad, at both national and semi-sovereign levels of jurisdiction. The one thing I've learned from experience is that THE only good governments are ones that are willing to upset vested interests

One of the most ludicrous applications of #ChineseSpies I have ever seen.
“Sussan Ley warned that wind and solar farms were vulnerable to Chinese hackers and sabotage attacks.”

The Coalition’s hatred of renewables knows no bounds. Now apparently we should ditch them because they could be targets (coal plants are presumably immune).

We found that Donald Trump has granted clemency in at least a dozen criminal cases that originated during his first term.

No president since Clinton has used clemency to erase his own appointees’ actions on such a scale.

LLMs give people with delusional belief systems a way to organise those beliefs. The model fills in gaps, supplies connective tissue, and wraps the madness in formal language.
It doesn't make the claims more credible to us, it just tidies them up.
