I dabbled in divorce law early in my career; never again.

In almost any other legal field, negotiation to a reasonable settlement is more likely than a long, expensive court battle. (1/4)

Its insane that AOC is getting slagged for implying US support for Taiwan is weak, a thing that Trump or his advisors say out loud like every day and no one is losing their minds

Vote Blue No Matter Who is not "any Dem is someone we'd be happy to see in office"

It's "any Dem is someone we'd prefer to see in office if the other option is their Republican opponent"

You'd *still* rather have Fetterman in the Senate than Oz.

You'd WAY rather have Cortez Masto than Adam fucking Laxalt, who's insane.

Corey Booker? Are we pretending he's a problem now?

Newsom is a slime - and still a better governor than Brian Dahle would've been

THINK! CRITICALLY!
No, let’s say the quiet part out loud:

Vote Blue, No Matter Who itself has been a failure of a test. Very clearly, we need to better evaluate politicians we’re supporting blindly.

John Fetterman, Graham Platner & his tattoo, Catherine Cortez Masto, Corey Booker, GAVIN NEWSOM?!?

Think! Critically!
Chuck Schumer spectacularly failed the “vote blue no matter who” test and should be hounded from office

In a civil suit context, a judge can respond to a party repeatedly failure to provide evidence by instructing the jury to assume the evidence is VERY bad for that party.

Doesn't apply to criminal cases when the party is the defense (self-incrimination), but can DEFINITELY apply to impeachment...
BREAKING: FBI notifies Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension that it won’t provide access to evidence it’s collected on the killing of Alex Pretti by armed and masked federal agents.

Perhaps this would be a good time to note that 187 members of Congress are signed on to Impeach Kristi Noem:
Kristi Noem Must Be Impeached
Members of Congress have a constitutional duty to remove this gangster from office.

Every time you speak up - and every time you don't - there are people watching and learning about you and the world you help create.
The drunk uncle theory.

You don’t argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows there’s safe people and better possibilities out there
agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with

It's not "amazing," it's clipart. Animation students playing around with the SFM and Unreal engines have been pulling (better) versions of this nonsense out of their ass online for a decade.
No wonder Hollywood is mad. This is an IP infringement bonanza.

It’s also amazing that you can make things like this with just text prompts.

Papers don’t quote ANYONE like this. Normal human speech is LOUSY with ums, uhs, and doubling short words (a, I, the). You clean that up as a matter of course.
Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?

I’d love to get every single Democrat on board with “abolish ICE and dismantle DHS” but you’re going to need some votes from folks who don’t want to embrace that particular rhetoric and good news “there’s just too much corruption we’ve got to dismantle it to solve the problem” is sitting right there
gotta do investigations into DHS “waste, fraud and abuse” as pretext for killing the agency

Do not, under any circumstances, download Epstein media
Since this is coming up as a topic because the DOJ is a pack of fuckups I wouldn't advise downloading any video or audio material they hosted without some deep soul searching as to the psychic damage and the legality of it.

Seems like a minefield for no reward for over 99 percent of folk here.

As I see it from a next-day perspective, there are two categories of risk/concern with Discord's age verification rollout. One is data risk (breach and collection), and the other is censorship risk.

I think Discord is doing its best to manage those risks. Which doesn't have to be enough for you.

Trump: "So I put on a 30% tariff, which is very low. I got an emergency call from I believe the prime minister of Switzerland. She was very aggressive ... I didn't really like the way she talked to us, so instead of giving her a reduction, I raised it to 39%."

What can we say? We have no idea! But 1st Amendment expert Cathy Gellis does! In fact we feel so free that we’re subsequently ready to do another Poundstone Riddle Invitational! Listen wherever you get your pods! @cathygellis.bsky.social

The answer is always ‘Because a bunch of people died, fuckwit.’
