As Justice Kagan begins her dissent by pointing out, what is even the point of trial, of fact-finding, of clear error, of standards of review, when the Supreme Court simply ignores every single part of that and decides everything purely on the papers without any real consideration of the facts?

it's not the most important issue right now but I would *really* like to see Democrats who want to be president announcing in no uncertain terms that anything this goober manages to carve his name on, it comes off. anything he builds, it gets torn down.

$1500 more and I should be clear of a line item, which will make it a bit easier to handle everything else.
I've been talking about this for a while, but I'm in an astronomical amount of debt on low income and it's actively preventing me from getting to a safe area for LGBTQIA+ people or afford healthcare. Dealing with some of it will really help me to take care of the rest of my problems. #transcrowdfund

An experienced organizer I really respect once reminded folks "you can't always win, but you can always, always inflict a cost. Those add up."
You cannot match the size and resources of these organizations that are abandoning trans youth and sacrificing trans lives, but you have one advantage they do not: an ability to maintain a relentless focus upon them.

Make it your work, every week, to think about how you can punish them.

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?

Everyone say thank you to Stanislav Petrov we don't live in Fallout for real.
Machines make mistakes.

In 1983, 5 nuclear missiles from the United States were headed towards the USSR.

Stanislav Petrov had this information. It was his job to inform superiors who would launch a counterstrike.

It was the start of what would have been the Last War.

He pressed X to doubt.

The very conservative Gen-Z men are redpilled and their "idols" have been going "you have a girlfriend, GAY" or "marriage is stupid". Conservative Gen-Z men are going to be the type of guys that keep trying to have mindless sex in their 50's while picking up women in their 20's
If you think about which zoomers are likely to actually start a family or even find a date, they’re largely not conservative.

And I think that’s going to be a huge problem for republicans.

If you don’t remember who the “Front Line COVID Critical Care Alliance” is, they did not work on the front lines but sold millions of dollars of hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin - and merch - at flea markets and online and both of the founding members had their medical board certifications revoked.
This is important! IMA (formerly FLCCC) is now running ACIP. Members of key COVID-disinformation groups are leading multiple branches of the government and advisory bodies. Health disinformation has become the law of the land.
Martin Kulldorff, the chair of ACIP, was just appointed chief science officer for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE).

Kirk Milhoan is the new chair of ACIP.

One of the things about trust is that it is efficient. It saves you having to invest a lot of time and effort in verification, and if placed in the right places, saves you a lot of pain.

The New Deal wasn’t built on a promise that there would be “no ceiling” for the richest Americans.

Quite the opposite, in fact. FDR knew its politics could only work if he singled out the rich as villains and knew that its policies could only work if the rich paid their fair share in taxes.
