This is, in my opinion, not only the correct moral/ethical/legal position but also the correct political framing. Everyone can see the agency is out of control; everyone can see that it is constantly violating human rights. "Scrap it and start over" is the moderate position.

This is a really important story, and one that explains the place of the Hmong community in the Twin Cities and why this entire occupation is really just ethnic cleansing (my words). Also, props to Marisa for doing the work to get this story right when so many out-of-town journalists have failed.

ICE was created in March of 2003. That means it's only 22, nearing 23, years old.
Most of the people I know are older than ICE. Even the "babies" who just started working at my company.
We were ICE-free for over 200 years. We don't need it.
