Frog we don’t have time for this
Toad sipped his tea. “Frog,” he asked, “are you making this up?”

“Maybe yes and maybe no,” said Frog.

I spoke to women (and one man) about what they find so hot about Heated Rivalry.

"The main reason I read MM is I just absolutely cannot stand reading or watching women suffer at the hands of men – in any way, big or small, anymore... We, as women, can just watch this and relax.”
Women are feral for Heated Rivalry. What does that say about men?

Like the hatching of cicadas, the discovery that women are human with independent thoughts, emotions, and sexual desire, cycles around and everyone is surprised by it. Then everyone will forget and revert to unsatisfying slop until a new show emerges that we go berserk for, and it will start anew.
Why Would Women Like Naked Gorgeous Men Talking About Their Emotions. Why Would Women Like Beautiful Sexy Men Yearning Sexily. Why Would Women Like Sculpted Butts And True Love. The Female Mind Is An Enigma.

The Pitt is incredible as proof you can be very middlebrow and very engaging at the same time. So much prestige TV relies on like novelistic subtext or tons of mythology and lore but The Pitt is just like No. You will watch this hot doctor competency porn and you will love it so much

This is a good thread, and articulates something I noticed early on about how my books spread: I have a niche, but the people who live there with me talk to each other a lot. I love it. Well done to people who can write to market, but at the end of the day, I write the stuff that makes me happy.
I was watching a video about an author who uses AI, and one of the things that stood out to me was how she talked about writing to market and how, as an author, writing what you want takes a backseat to the market when you get "serious" about it, and I vehemently disagree. 🧵

Stay tuned for more fury and more scathing!
