Time for another what-is-AI thread, because there’s a lot of confusion, seeded on purpose by shitty vulture capitalists trying to sell stuff.

AI is a legit branch of computer science with a LOT of different approaches & addressing MANY different types of problems.

I want to emphasize this, and note that I have been saying it consistently for over 10 years now: *everything* about Trump is immediately visible. Everything. There's no there there, no depth, nothing hidden, no secrets. He's shallow as a puddle. It's all right there, immediate, obvious, glaring.

My mini poodle has LOVED her crate her whole life (she is 7 now!) but her old crate pad (thin, no separate cover) finally disintegrated a couple months ago and I bought a replacement—a cushier pad with a fake-fur zip-off cover (she LOVES fake fur) and she has avoided her crate since. 🙃

What’s for dinner at your place? Today, we had scallion oil halibut with fresh crusty bread (to dredge in the oil!) and roasted Brussels sprouts. Nice to have a vehicle for oil that isn’t deep fried 😂

Folks, would you believe me if I told you JD Vance was over there railing against the immigrants as the reason for the antisemitism

Some posts to report/users to block. 😵‍💫

Bsky has had a dramatic upswing in open Islamophobia and antisemitism this weekend. It’s awful, awful.

Haha yesss may all their schemes come to dust.
For more than two years, Jared Kushner has sought to build a Trump-branded complex of towers in a central Belgrade site once bombed by NATO.
But the plans are running into resistance in Serbia. On Monday, a special prosecutor indicted four officials including a cabinet minister over the project.

Noam Chomsky’s emails to Jeffrey Epstein display none of the fawning chatter found from, say, Larry Summers. And he does not appear to have been co-opted by whatever access Epstein provided.

What the Noam Chomsky–Jeffrey Epstein E-mails Tell Us
Chomsky has often suffered fools, knaves, and criminals too lightly. Epstein was one of them. But that doesn’t mean Chomsky was part of the “Epstein class.”

Grateful for abortion drugs today. Had a post-minor-surgery uterus clot causing lots of bleeding and instead of ANOTHER surgery, I got to take meds also used for abortions and get rid of the clot with some cramping at home. Much safer and easier.

Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didn’t have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.

Steve isn’t here anymore, but he always posted this picture on Hanukkah so I thought we could carry on his tradition and remember him.
Happy Hanukkah to our friends who celebrate. Rachel Posner, a rabbi’s wife in Kiel, Germany, took this photograph in 1931 -- a potent reminder that fascism must be fought in every generation, even if it's wrapped in an American flag and a red hat.
