as ai video becomes better and better (or, I guess worse and worse), which we've already seen this week with "rat running across news desk" etc, it's going to be important that we become familiar with who posts trustworthy content and feeding things through content farming accounts also weakens that

I also don't think using crossposting tools is a good excuse for this behavior from the farming accounts, because if people haven't shared the content themselves on X or Facebook or whatever, it's usually a conscious choice on their part.

go and find the fact or the news story or whatever it is you want to share and share it directly

and if someone is a brilliant genius in their analysis, i still think you should errr toward respecting what platforms they are choosing to post on and make sure your followers have access to context

I firmly believe screenshot/meme/text-as-graphic post sharing is a corrosive practice. It divorces everything from context that might let you know where the info came from, is it now out of date, has the original poster (or their followers) made clarifying comments downthread etc

(i don't think "antifa" is super meaningful in that quote, though you could replace it with a certain set of folks who think nobody else's protest efforts are good enough)
