Hi, I'm Kara (they/them). I'm a queer, autistic author who writes queer historical-paranormal fantasy books.
I've published 10 novels, a handful of short stories, and a novella, which you can get by joining my newsletter.
My newsletter: eepurl.com/bfJTW9
My books: books2read.com/ap/nAkLmr/Ka...
the kara jorgensen story universe. It shows all my books. The Earl of Brass, The Gentleman Devil, The Earl and the Artificer, Dead Magic, Selkie Cove, The Wolf Witch. Then, it swings down to Kinship and Kindness (since the characters overlap). There's also Flowers and Flourishing which is a newsletter freebie sapphic novella, which is related to K&K as well as the Reanimator Mysteries series, which is 3 book so far and follows Oliver and Felipe exclusively. The books are The Reanimator's Heart, The Reanimator's Soul, and The Reanimator's Remains

They all look remarkably like the Nazi who went to my college who spoke in a falsetto voice and had a slightly wider, plausible deniability hitler-stache.
Except that I didn't know his name, I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of the assholes in the young republican groupchat.

you are both completely correct about what these men look like, and also totally unprepared for the onslaught of terrible business babies in their dads' suits
a man in an ill-fitting suit. he looks like 22 but also has a terrible combover another man in a suit, he has a bowlcut business baby coming atcha, this business baby is walking towards you with purpose. which purpose? an ill one a business baby in a grey suit and transition lenses. his hairline is, shockingly, receding

I've had "Money Makes the World Go Round" stuck in my head all day, but it's the Shari Lewis and Lambchop version.
It starts around the 3 min mark if you want to share in this earworm.

even the smartest folks whose takes i otherwise appreciate, who otherwise want to resist fascism themselves & encourage others to, find wearing a mask in, at least, public indoor spaces—to prevent the harms of this administration from impacting others—to be a bridge too far; it’s shameful, frankly.

yeah, i think a commitment to public health obligates you to get vaccinated and, when you are sick, do what you can to avoid spreading that to other people. the demand that one mask at all times in public spaces is, i think, unreasonable.

Masking at ublic transit, hospitals, pharmacies, and the grocery store would be absolutely fantastic for public health tbh.

Improved ventilation could mitigate the need for even that much but at this rate, we will never know for sure.

Most people aren’t asking you mask at all times.

They ask that you mask in essential places: public transit, hospitals, doctors’ offices, pharmacies etc.

Places high risk people can’t avoid.

But if you hate wearing masks? Then advocate for indoor air quality: ventilation, filtration, etc.

I dipped my toe in IF over summer, and it was great fun! Play as one of Emmanuelle's cats (from Val-de-mer) as you try to escape a bath... or perhaps you'd rather try to get as many treats as possible?

No knowledge of PAINTED FLOCK needed to play.

An image with a white cat that has splotches of red and blue paint. Besides it are pawprints of blue paint and the title “Painted Kitty” in red. Above is written “I made a small interactive fiction game and it’s completely free to play!” and “In which you are a dirty little kitty, and you’re trying to escape a bath!”

Q: Politico reported on a group chat of young Republicans. Does this just reflect some bad apples?

HOCHUL: Some bad apples? These are the future of the GOP. This is so vile it's hard to find the words to put into context ... there's gotta be consequences ... this bullshit has to stop.

Price for sure. Wilde could have been gay or bi. We can't ask him, lol.

When Vincent Price was in a one-man play about Oscar Wilde, Anita Bryant denounced it. When he was asked about her opinion, Price said Wilde already had a term for Bryant: A Woman of No Importance.
He was a Bi-icon of the highest order

I'm really annoyed. I had hoped that this year TV networks would break out the Halloween specials this year, and there has been nothing. Okay, there has been like 2 ghost shows, both of which I hate (the kind where the guys are always screaming and doing demon voice).
I want ghost hunters & stories😭

Weaver House, the yarn shop and weaving school that has drawn fiber arts enthusiasts from around the world, announced it will shut its doors for good in December.

Founder Rachel Snack hopes that a weaving or teaching enthusiast might buy these Macomber looms and start their own weaving school.
Are you looking to buy looms? The Weaver House in the Bok building is closing.
The shop owner is looking for a single buyer for the floor looms acquired from the University of the Arts after the school shuttered.
