My life has been so consistently wild (989 days, but still less than 3 years since I moved home) I forgot to mention *surgery* I had in September. As in 2.5 months ago.
So many people have helped balance these events so that I can stay on mission but this last 12% is make or break.

There's a difference between casting a white actor to play a white character from another culture and casting BIPOC in roles from another culture. Naveen Andrews playing an Iraqi, Chinese actors playing Korean or Japanese, happens because showrunners know their target audience can't tell us apart.

My professional goals for this year were to finish two novellas and to make more in royalties than I did last year. Barring some miracles in the next six weeks, I’ve failed at both. lol.

Wondering about Asian rep in Heated Rivalry? Well, unlike the book, it actually exists. So there’s that. But it’s surface level so far, and Christina Chang and Hudson Williams aren’t Japanese. I’m not shocked that hasn’t been brought up. We’re still doing One East Asian Fits All in 2025. 🙃

I think that somewhere along the way something in Stephen Miller got fundamentally damaged. This is neither an excuse nor a mitigating factor; the dude is genuinely fucking evil and he and everything he stands for should be fought against and stopped. But he is something beyond mere sociopathy.
Since Stephen Miller is in the midst of another of his Aryans-only trantrums, we should note that his family are 20th century immigrants from the shtetl of Antopol (Антопаль) then in the Hrodna gubernia of Russia. Applying his immigration rules, they would all have perished in the Holocaust.
