I've never even written a screenplay and I could still craft a more satisfying narrative arc than any given season of AHS

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"

So....hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book?

Do you know how many cool trans horror writers you could tap to make a better television series?
tamrabonvillain.bsky.social
Having Ed Gein talk to Christine Jorgensen about being trans while they play a recreation of THE SCENE from Silence of the Lambs, and then have her tell him he's not trans by paraphrasing a line by Janice Raymond is certainly a choice
tamrabonvillain.bsky.social
This new Monster season is like what if Ed Gein's life was actually an adaptation of Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Silence of the Lambs and not the other way around.

I love how our nation is self-destructing in order to coddle the world's biggest losers

WE have to learn how to exist in a world full of people who want to eliminate us, many of whom have their hands on the levers of power

They get to toss a few bucks toward a fashionable charity if their consciences get a little twinge, then move on with their lives

What I find particularly galling about this us that she doesn't actually have to figure out how to live together

These rich white folks - from Knightley to Rowling - can structure their lives such that those afflicted by bigotry, by poverty, by marginalization, can never actually affect them
junoryleejournalism.com
right … which is .. what so many of us are asking for as trans people ???

Kiera Knightley sounds like a BlueSky moderator

Keira Knightley said that before joining the voice cast of Audible's "Harry Potter: The Full Cast Audio
Editions,
" she was "not aware" of the fan boycott
of all things "Harry Potter" over J.K. Rowling's statements about the transgender community:
"You know, I think we're all living in a period of time right now where we're all going to have to figure out how to live together, aren't we? And we've all got very different opinions. I hope that we can all find respect."

I am sadly way behind on @herecomestomorrow.net. Doing the required reading so I can catch up this week!
The cover of New X-Men Modern Epic Collection Volume 1: E Is For Extinction, reproducing the cover of New X-Men #114

Cyclops, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Wolverine and Professor X approach the reader, their faces in shadow. The background is a swirl of sparks in shades of orange and yellow.

Fun Historical Fact: The Salvation Army opened a mission in Ravenkirk, ME in 1932

It closed after six months and thirteen days, which is coincidentally about how long it took for Dolores Ruthven to get bored with them

I love how in actual Revelations, the point of the antichrists is just "Y'all watch out, 'cuz SOME PEOPLE* are gonna say they're preaching the Word of God to lead you astray" and then those people turned the antichrist into a horror movie villain

Peter Thiel, watching Boss Baby: Getting a lot of antichrist vibes off this one
sharonk.bsky.social
thiel, man, what the fuck are you talking about

He describes the plot of Watchmen, a 1986 graphic novel involving superheroes grappling with moral questions about humanity against the backdrop of impending nuclear war:

The antihero Ozymandias, the antichrist-type figure, is sort of an early-modern person. He believes this will be a timeless and eternal solution – eternal world peace. Moore is sort of a late-modern. In early modernity, you have ideal solutions, ‘perfect’ solutions to calculus. In late modernity, things are sort of probabilistic. And at some point, he asks Dr Manhattan whether the world government is going to last. And he says that ‘nothing lasts forever.’ So you embrace the antichrist and it still doesn’t work.

Thiel later finds biblical meaning in the manga One Piece, discussing how he believes it represents a future where an antichrist-like one-world government has repressed science. He believes that the hero, Monkey D Luffy, represents a Christlike figure.

In One Piece, you are set in a fantasy world, again sort of an alternate earth, but it’s 800 years into the reign of this one-world state. Which, as the story unfolds, gradually gets darker and darker. You sort of realize, in my interpretation, who runs the world and it’s something like the antichrist. There’s Luffy, a pirate who wears a red straw hat, sort of like Christ’s crown of thorns. And then towards the end of the story, transforms into a figure who resembles Christ in Revelation.

Thiel, along with a researcher and writer at Thiel Capital, explored these ideas at greater length in an essay for the religious journal First Things earlier this month.

We've known what these people are for literal generations and their reputation is invincible

If you really want to do evil in the US, you just gotta slap a cross on it

The Salvation Army really is the epitome of a certain kind of white conservatism

They prey on the most vulnerable. They happily leave the sort of people they don't like to die in the streets

But they smile a lot and don't cuss and say "Jesus", so they get to be respectable
itsviviactually.bsky.social
It's impressive how committed the Salvation Army is to being the absolute worst while masquerading as an anodyne organization

It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.

Do I know/am moots with/am followed by any voice actors?

I am working on an announcement for auditions for voice actors and would love to run it by some people sometime before year's end?

Just...putting feelers out

A thing I think a lot of cishet folks don't appreciate is how reluctant many of us are to trust these days

And how much harder it gets when the few we do let us down

"If [NAME] could turn on me, so could anyone"
