I think this is the core of it. People have been working on “AI” for more than half a century. I don’t want to concede that the tech is defined by the fascist financiers anymore than I concede that the Internet is defined by the fascist financiers. Investors aren’t inventors! Reject their platforms.
If "AI" was being built, used, and planned for in responsible ways--the way a civilization designed to enhance human thriving would do--then a lot more people would be enthusiastic about its potential. But the people in charge of defining what AI will be are the fucking worst short-term scumbags.

yeah man i LOVE technology*

*the implements by which the people of the "Corded Ware" culture (c. 3000-2350 BCE) applied the signature indentations to their ceramic pottery
“why do you hate technology” as though “technology” were some discrete entity divorced entirely from the context of what it does and what it creates, rather than a category so broad as to constitute reality itself

Terrifyingly organized gay couples running the armed forces does kinda have a lot of appeal. If nothing else they'd have that budget ship shape.

I'm sure we've all seen the graphic that lays out the United States ' relationship with slavery. It's good, but I never thought it was quite impactful enough. So I made my own.

I've used a few key events, including my birth, to highlight how recent these events are in history.

1 square = 1 year.

There’s a theory bears have a sense of aesthetic enjoyment as they’ve been observed stopping to take in a view or a sunset and, for lack of a better term, hanging out
Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.

Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

It doesn't explain his relationship to the rest of the human race but a big part of RFK Jr.'s broader damage is clearly trying to find out if he can die. I guess if I had lived a life like his and was somehow still around drinking out of puddles at 72 I'd have some questions on that as well.

Labour has brought back section 28 against trans and non-binary individuals. I lived through section 28 last time. I suffered the harms of it. This will do the same thing. Not even allowing young people to socially transition is plain wrong. It prevents them finding their own identity.

Gay was the easiest thing to explain to my son. I was literally just “sometimes two men or two women fall in love.” “Ok, cool. What’s a war?”
always so funny to me when people are like “how am I supposed to explain Gay to my kids?” my kid asks me way harder shit all the time. “why did they build the road this way? why are some people bad?” I don’t know. please ask me about Gay
