He literally says in this clip that ICE will keep in Minnesota “quick reaction forces” — a military term — to go after “agitators.” Remember that those on the ground in MPLS have spent more than a week trying to tell everyone that Trump’s prior “deescalation” was a ruse and ICE is still operational
Homan: "Operation Metro Surge is ending. In the next week, we're going to deploy the officers here on detail back to their home stations or to other areas of the country where they're needed."

I had a pregnant client who was experiencing abdominal cramping for three days and was deprived of medical care. When we interceded, she was punished.

A first grader snatched two days after surgery denied wound care.

I had two clients moved within an hour of ICE learning we were looking for them and advising us there was not plan to move them.

A family of four moved 36 hours after a court order forbidding them from being moved.

3 other clients moved within a day of court-ordered injunctions.

Very important thread 🧵
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

Property > people, with actual dollar amounts. Getting retribution for the on-camera embarrassment of DHS/ICE is worth more than a woman's life.

One of the most miserable things about living in this era is having to watch the stupidest & most arrogant people in the world have to relearn The Why of literally everything good that we collectively do the hard way.

The answer is always ‘Because a bunch of people died, fuckwit.’

Correction: it is one snow sculpture, but made in tandem by the two aforementioned teams
I believe the first image depicts a snow sculpture re-made by @smokiwuff.bsky.social/their team. They were disqualified/their sculpture defaced at the St Paul Winter Carnival for being "political." The 2nd image is by Team USA from the World Competition in Stillwater.
About 200 gathered at an unveiling of a snow sculpture denouncing ICE in Minneapolis’ East Isles neighborhood. The sculpture, originally to be exhibited as Team USA’s entry to a competition in Stillwater, was destroyed because organizers believed it made a political statement, according to MPR.

My tiny, rural, almost all white #DFL caucus mentioned the Nuremberg Trials several times.
If my caucus was any sort of indication, national Dems really need to wake the fuck up about what voters want them to do about ICE.

We know that 4more children from Liam's school are still in ICE custody in TX. But we still do not know how many children from MN in total have been detained by ICE.
JUST IN: The five-year-old Columbia Heights Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, who have been in an ICE detention facility in Texas, are on their way home.

Thank you for reminding me to send a message to my PCP for this. 🫡
If you're an adult who was vaccinated, you should get your titers run to make sure you still have immunity. Vaccination can wane and/or you may not have generated a strong immune response. That was ok when we had herd immunity but we're likely about to lose our "measles free" status.
Vaccinate your kids, you friggin nuts.

Thread 🧵
An (I’m assuming unpopular) thought I have been having is the importance of centering immigrants and refugees in our stories of this moment.

When we center the stories of only observers, we get milquetoast.

So for Dems, the win is: reiterating 3 things that are already law, 1 thing that is a best practice, and 1 thing that was already a rule up until 6 months ago?

From the bottom of my heart: fuck off with this.

And they didn't even include ICE out of hospitals, healthcare facilities and daycares.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:
