Probably on my bike.
Our garage cam only records the driveway, but takes still shots every few minutes. Looks like one of those captured the crash in progress.

It’s absolutely amazing no one was hurt or killed, this truck flew down so much sidewalk. Also incredibly lucky my dog wasn’t outside at that exact moment.

What horrors will today bring?

This is good (I will click on any link that promises bird friends).

Rented a chainsaw, cut up and moved the fallen tree, and my sidewalk is finally clear and open for pedestrians again! Hooray!

I’ve had a lot of convos with passersby today, but I just had a guy stop by and ask if a car hit the tree in our boulevard because “I’m an arborist, and trees don’t just do that on their own.”

You mean they don’t fly 20 yards and explode into multiple pieces of their own volition? Fascinating.

How do I clean up gasoline on snow? I can’t find anything about my stupid and specific circumstances.

It’s a story of forbidden love you won’t see anywhere else - a turkey and a Public Works truck.

Anyways I’m gonna go clean my yard up and then go to the liquor store because *gestures broadly outside*

Ok so full story - according to the U Haul driver, someone stole her car (someone known to her with keys to it??), and she chased them in the truck. A witness said the UHaul was going super fast, trying to overtake the other car speeding in the wrong lane on 38th, before losing control and crashing.

I normally don’t like short story collections, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this one by @garethlpowell.bsky.social. A number of these feel like they should be part of a bigger book, and I wanted them to keep going.

This is such a good rebuttal. So glad to have CM Chowdhury representing our ward.
Aurin Chowdhury rebutting Michael Rainville on his "defund the police" accusation. MPD has done nothing but ramp their budget off the chart. And then overspent that budget by $20 million. "That's the opposite of defunding the police. So let's give it a break."

You may not like it, but the ideal vehicle is the 1989 Taurus wagon with wood paneling from Christmas Vacation.

I hate when websites tell you you haven’t entered a real email or url or whatever as you’re typing it, just freaking out in big red text until I finish typing and then are like oh yeah that’s real phew

Cat figured out the laptop makes heat from the vent on its side, and now tries to lay against it all day.

I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

I don’t know if this is justified or not, but I’m always incredibly suspicious of any nonprofit fundraising job that offers bonuses based on hitting certain revenue targets.

Kudos to the city guy in the skid-steer driving down 38th and clearing curb cuts. Love to see it.

Anyone recognize this dog? My neighbor is watching him until his owners are found. Pit mix, male, pretty sizable, good at greeting and friendly behaviors and VERY SWEET. No tag, no chip. Surely his family yearns for him. Found in the Standish-Ericson neighborhood in Minneapolis, near Lake Hiawatha.
