My computer rebooted itself before a meeting and is doing this now - I assume this is good and fine and normal.

I’m reading a book by a British author, and this is a really minor annoyance, but every character is putting guns in their pockets to carry them around.

Good afternoon.

I remember years ago it was maybe CityPages who flagged Autozone as being the worst offender with the most fines levied. Well, they’re still not clearing their sidewalks - the system doesn’t work!
The system of fines for sidewalks not being cleared is clearly a failure, based on the number of businesses who have not touched the snow even a bit so far.

It finally happened - despite many warnings not to, my kid got his tongue stuck to a metal pole at the bus stop.

Disney+ only having the widescreen, cropped versions of the Simpsons is wild.

Another part of this is that no one claims responsibility for, so it never gets fixed either. Last year @aurinmpls.bsky.social had to reach out to PW to get that pork chop cleared for pedestrians; no telling who would have done it otherwise.
Two facts:

-Accessibility and walkability are as strong as their weakest links.

-Uncleared sidewalks are a moral statement (even if it is just the curb cuts)

If grandma can't roll over the snow to catch the bus, it isn't good enough.

I’d be curious to see how much the B Line is slowed down by people partially parking in the bus lane due to snow. Anecdotally it looks like it’s making it harder for the bus for sure.

The Moon Palace book insert in this week’s Messenger is a delight. They also have a coupon for a discount on any of the books in the guide.

What is this new Fortnite season; I hate it

My kid got into the Impossible Creatures books recently, and I really hate that I have to google if an author he’s reading is a pos or not now because of JK.

With Articulture not offering youth classes anymore, I’m wondering if folks have suggestions for a local place that does art classes for older kids? Would be great to get my kids in another class or two this winter break.

In this house we’re still listening to the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack.

You should clear your sidewalks.

Hit 52 out of my goal of 60 for the year this month! Might not make it all the way to my goal, but it’s been an enjoyable process to be sure. Really enjoyed How High We Go In The Dark this month, very sad at times, but well worth it.

I can’t tell if I think this is funny, or fucked up, but maybe it’s both.
This week I learned Minnesota brings a turkey to the governor's mansion just to let it know it's gonna get eaten. Incredible state. I have many notes for it.

In other news, the wild turkeys of the Twin Cities are an armed militia

It is very, very annoying to me that I stop drinking for two weeks, and there are immediate health benefits.

If you’re doing any shopping locally for Small Business Saturday, remember that you can get a $15 gift card to a local business just by spending $25 on or near Lake Street!
