How it continues to go.
Small white and grey cat on the back of a black dog who just wants to sleep, biting the top of the dogs head.

Add in a lack of density on our retail corridors, and there’s just not a lot to walk to. I think 38th west of Hiawatha is an example of a street that has a lot of small nodes and shops and destinations like parks, but it’s so spread out, that it’s just not appealing to walk along.
mplsalex.bsky.social
I do think we have a weirdly divided retail landscape, where there are nodes you’d want to be at, but very little linking them. Add that we have a lot of big roads and highways separating those areas, and it’s hard to actually want to walk about.

Y’all really blue it with this name

This is the first time I’ve noticed Jet Blue planes have names on them. And also that they are terrible.

All the “limit on number purchased” signs of the new TS CDs and vinyls at Target feel weirdly desperate; like I know it’ll sell fine but there’s like a hundred of them right here, no one’s making a run on these.

I dunno, feels like reaching the “hiding your neighbors from the masked secret police” stage of things in like 9 months doesn’t bode well for the next couple of years.

I’m very excited that Mural Day is back again this year on Lake Street! It’s a free event with guided tours and more of the fabulous new murals that have popped up all along the corridor in the past few years.

Check out the farmers market, and then check out some murals!

Sierra Club endorses Aurin Chowdhury for Minneapolis City Council Ward 12! @aurinmpls.bsky.social

The entirety of my platform is to be kind of annoying online. Rank me second.
mplsalex.bsky.social
Anyways obviously I think you should vote for CM Chowdhury; don’t rank anyone else except me as a write-in.

I can’t even imagine.

Ward 12 has probably the most accessible Councilwoman; someone who is always out in community, easy to reach in person or online, and who is always open to a conversation about how we make our city better for everyone. I can’t imagine a better rep for our community.

Watched exactly one minute of the Ward 12 debate tonight.

I pulled up on my bike at the Moon Palace pickup window the other day, and they immediately opened the window and handed me my book - didn’t even ask name or title or anything. I may buy too many books.

This weekend was record breaking for our mutual aid efforts! On Friday, the team got up bright and early to send home vendors. 6 vendors supported, over $500 worth of food. Saturday, we bought 100 tamales from 2 vendors! All distributed right back into the community. We keep us safe! #BikeChi
